Now before we moved on, team-mates Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were caught on camera playing online chess.

I'm sure it works well for team bonding!

The next VT is the new F1 movie starring Brad Pitt.

I am yet to propose the idea of a BBC F1 team trip to the cinema this summer...

You never know who’ll you’ll bump into on a morning stroll.

While I was taking some pictures for tonight’s live page, I saw two young lads walk past and admire the Mercedes poster. So far, so normal.

It was only on closer inspection I realised it was George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

The pair were doing a spot of filming before tonight’s show, which will probably pop up on social media at some point.

Did I ask for a photo? Absolutely I did, as technically my shift didn’t start for another 30 minutes.

If I am correct, Mercedes are next.

Very fittingly, guess who Lorraine bumped into this morning? I am very jealous.

  6. ‘Best looking car’published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

Of course Aston Martin would reference Bond for their unveiling. Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso also get bonus points for mingling with the crowd.

Singer Tems, accompanied by an orchestra, is serenading the car as it’s brought on stage.

“She’s looking good,” Stroll says of the green livery.

“Best looking car of the night,” adds Alonso, who is being cheered loudly by the fans.

Aston Martin team boss Andy Cowell says they can't wait to get racing.

Lance Stroll says the car "looks good for sure" and he's "ready to get racing".

"Best looking car of the night" says time champion Fernando Alonso.

A quick change of clothes for Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, they're in their overalls now.

    That was very quick.

  9. 'We are Aston Martin'published at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

Ooh bit of a change with the music, there's some calming violins as singer Tems makes her way down the stage.

The green Aston Martin follows behind her, before it's lifted up.

Lawrence Stroll watches the car carefully.

  10. The name's Martin, Aston Martinpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

No overalls for Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, they're in their suits with their helmets.

Oooh! Their VT is a comic style cartoon. Very cool.

  11. Notes for the futurepublished at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

If we’re all still here and following Formula 1 in the year 2050, we’re in for a treat.

Fernando Alonso was at a legends dinner on Monday before tonight’s live show (he was the only contemporary driver to make an appearance) and said those who attended wrote down phrases on a piece of paper, which were then placed in a box. That box of messages is going to be opened for the 100th anniversary of the sport in 25 years’ time.

What did the Spaniard write on his note? “I can’t reveal that,” he said with a smile.

We're on to our sixth team reveal tonight, here's Aston Martin.

With a James Bond theme of course!

  13. Rookies are readypublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

BBC Sport Journalist at The O2 Arena

Welcome to the grid, Kimi Antonelli, Isack Hadjar, Jack Doohan, Gabriel Bortoleto, Liam Lawson and Ollie Bearman. These are the most rookies we’ve seen since the 2001 season - also the year Fernando Alonso first made his debut in the sport.

While Red Bull’s Lawson and Haas’ Bearman did experience decent track action during the 2024 season - Briton Bearman memorably stepped in for Carlos Sainz (and scored points) in Saudi Arabia at the start of the year - this will be the pair’s first taste of a full F1 calendar.

Bortoleto at Sauber is the reigning Formula 2 champion; Racing Bulls’ Hadjar is the driver he beat to the title. Doohan makes the jump from Alpine reserve driver to the proper seat, while Antonelli is stepping in to the biggest shoes a newbie could fill - Lewis Hamilton’s at Mercedes.

The volume has cranked up, but I’m not sure a one-man DJ set-up of Are We Dreaming has held the crowd’s attention. Why not perform the F1 theme you’re famous for?

We've now moved on to Alpine, who are displaying a video of commentary snippets saying the team is in “disarray”, a reference to the French team’s early season struggles last year.

The livery is a mix of vibrant pink and dark blue. That’s a nice one…

Now we have five new rookies in the mix, this season.

    Here's Lorraine with more.

  16. Postpublished at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

Jack Doohan admires the car as they walk off the stage. I bet he can't wait to get started next week in testing.

  17. Alpine's time to shinepublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

Yes, the Alpine is pink and blue.

Here come drivers Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan.

Both of them have their caps on.

"It's a new look," Gasly says.

The first question put to Jack Doohan and Pierre Gasly today was all about the two Alpine drivers’ shaved heads. One of those might be down to a certain procedure that’s most commonly performed in Turkey, but those rumours are unconfirmed - and rightly so. “It’s saved me 15 minutes in the morning, so happy days,” said the Frenchman

Australian Doohan was questioned about Franco Colapinto’s signing as one of the team’s reserve drivers for the 2025 season. Is the 22-year-old rookie feeling the heat already to keep his seat? “You’re always going to have pressure on your shoulders,” he said. "I look forward to it and embrace it.”

When pressed if he felt undermined by the Argentine’s presence in the team, Doohan quickly shot down any more questions on the subject. “We’ll move on from that,” the Alpine moderator quickly interjected…

The DJ is feeling the music, as pink and blue lights flash across the stage.

Will Alpine stick to their colours? Or will we see something different?

  20. Postpublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February

From America to France, it's time for Alpine's show.

"Are we dreaming?" comes up on the screen. Mysterious.
