Wexford did hit the opening two scores of the second half to draw level at 1-12 to 0-15, Clare exploited their numerical advantage to fire an unanswered 1-3 as man of the match Shane O'Donnell stroked in a glorious goal.

The Banner County's strong bench helped them pull away in the closing stages to win 2-28 to 1-19 as veteran substitute Ian Galvin hit another cracking goal.

    Kilkenny v Clare (15:00 BST)

Kilkenny edged out Clare to clinch a 1-25 to 1-22 win in a thrilling semi-final at Croke Park a year ago.

The Cats deservedly led 0-15 to 0-10 at half-time but Clare summoned up a huge effort to move 0-19 to 0-17 ahead.

Eoin Cody punished a Clare mistake to restore Kilkenny's lead as he netted, only for Shane O'Donnell to level with a superb goal.

But Kilkenny moved three ahead again and held on despite a frantic finish to beat the Bannermen in the last four for the second year in a row.
