Argentina are having a good bit of possession on halfway here.

Ireland need a comeback win after last week but there are some young, exciting players on the bench waiting to come on. Thomas Clarkson has already got a taste and Sam Prendergast is such an exciting talent.

Ireland's defence has been superb and Argentina will be frustrated as they have not been allowed to play their game.

Just the 12 points in the first half.

How good was Jack Crowley in the opening 45 minutes?

Andy Farrell will be delighted with the intent in both the attack and defence but they cannot give Argentina opportunities to hang in this game.

Ireland's attack was scintillating at times, but that defensive set at the end of the half was just as impressive.

It's been much more like the Ireland that everyone has become accustomed to over the past few years.

    Serious half of rugby.

Tries, both legal and illegal, yellow cards and just flat-out action.

Ireland will be happy but not ecstatic. Argentina looked deflated after 10 minutes but have been given hope.

Much better energy on Lansdowne Road tonight.

  15. Really exciting first halfpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November

    Craig Gilroy
Former Ulster wing on BBC Radio Foyle

A lot better from Ireland but I would like Ireland's discipline to be better. They cannot let Argentina back into the game because they had a scintillating second half against Italy last week.

A thoroughly enjoyable and exciting first 40 though.

James Ryan steals it! All Ireland have to do is put it out of play and the half-time whistle will blow!

Robbie Henshaw puts in a huge hit to halt the momentum, but the visitors regroup!

    It's chaos!

Albornoz tries to kick it into the corner and it bounces in the in-goal area, catching everyone out.

Hugo Keenan eventually gets it, but that really could have gone anywhere.

Play is brought back once again.

Caelan Doris is warned as the penalties start to build up.

  20. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November

    Ireland 22-9 Argentina

Argentina are over the line but it's held up by the pack! I've no idea who tried to get it down as about 28 of the 30 players on the pitch were involved.

Play is brought back for another penalty, and it's into the corner once again.
