Ulster Club SFC quarter-final, 15:30 GMT

Neither Newbridge nor Clann Eireann have ever won an Ulster Senior title, but both will be confident of having a strong campaign this year.

Clann Eireann are also on a high as they got the better of Lurgan rivals Clan na Gael in the Armagh decider.

As the old saying goes ‘if it’s not broken don’t fix it’ and both sides are unchanged from their respective county final wins.

    Cargin 0-9 Errigal Ciaran 0-17

Most pundits had Errigal Ciaran down as favourites to win today but the smart money looked to be on a tight enough contest with Cargin having plenty of experience in the Ulster Club Championship.

But in the event, the Corrigan Park game proved a total mismatch as Errigal Ciaran hit the opening three points and despite Cargin cutting the margin to 0-3 to 0-4, the Tyrone champions reasserted total control to lead 0-10 to 0-4 at half-time.

The Canavan brothers Ruairi and Darragh, and cousin Thomas, all hit 0-2 in the first half.

Cargin didn't get any closer than six down in the second half as Ruairi Canavan finished top scorer with 0-4 in an utterly dominant Errigal Ciaran win.
