This year's TT has been plagued by interruptions as weather delays and other setbacks have caused the cancellations of qualifying sessions, delays in the running of races and constant rescheduling of the programme.

TT fans were spoiled by wall-to-wall sunshine at last year's event and while the 2024 meeting has been far from a washout on the scale of 2019, circumstances have caused a number of headaches for the organising team.

The introduction of a new 10-race programme last year, to include two extra races compared to the previous schedule, puts further pressure on schedulers to complete the full roster of races within the timescale available.

In the event something had to give and the second Superstock race has been scrapped.

The Senior TT race is the most keenly anticipated of the Isle of Man TT meeting, the 'blue riband' event, and this year is no exception.

While there may be some disappointment that the race has been reduced to four laps rather than the scheduled and customary six, there is still a keen sense of anticipation among the fans lining the 37.73-mile Mountain Course and here at the TT Grandstand where thousands have congregated to lap up the atmosphere and the buzz of the high speed spectacle that awaits.

With the race being held on a Saturday, many of the island's population swell the ranks on the hedgegrows, behind the stone walls and in the gardens of private houses and pubs around the course.

It's the biggest race of the year on the road racing calendar and the 'Silver Lady' trophy awarded to the winner the most coveted prize in the sport.

Here we go. It's time for the big one.

The Senior TT is the race that everybody wants to win and this is shaping up to be an almighty showdown between the biggest names in the sport.

Michael Dunlop, who became the most successful rider in the TT's storied history earlier in the week, was leading the Superbike race on Sunday by more than 20 seconds before before a visor issue dropped him out of contention.

That left a three-way battle between Peter Hickman, Dean Harrison and Davey Todd for the win in a thrilling shoot out.

It was Hickman who had enough to win. Can he make it a Superbike double or will Dunlop, Harrison or Todd respond?
