    The Ferrari does work well around this track and Charles Leclerc has come away from a little bit of extra confidence having taken the victory in Monza last time out.

    What about trying to take his first win in Baku despite always being very fast in qualifying, but it hasn't always gone his way.

    Lando Norris was straight to the TV pen to speak to Sky Sports. He says he had to lift off because of the yellow flags and failed to get his second lap in. The McLaren driver adds he thinks his lap would've been could enough for P2.

    Meanwhile, team-mate Oscar Piastri has gone fastest in Q2 with a 1:42.598 on the softs from the Mercedes of George Russell and the Haas of Ollie Bearman.

    The thing for Piastri to do now is beat everybody else, if he can beat everyone else, they will be more than happy wherever Norris ends up because they want to get the points, particular for the team as well.

    Realistically, what can Lando Norris do from P17 tomorrow? The Briton is 62 points behind leader Max Verstappen in the drivers' championship, while McLaren are only eight points away from Red Bull in the constructors' title race.

    It's a problem for Lando Norris, he's had to back off, and he's out! Lando Norris in the drop zone, he can't go through to Q2. That yellow flag has affected him.

    [On getting a two from your team-mate] It can make a massive difference, three, four-tenths around a circuit like this, but it's also quite a difficult thing to orchestrate carefully and accurately.

    Esteban Ocon is on an out lap and is running down in the elimination zone in 17th place. First practice's other red-flagged driver, Ollie Bearman, was on his way to Q2 but now the Haas man is thrown into the pit as Daniel Ricciardo jumps up to eighth spot.

    Still not good enough for either McLaren at the moment, Piastri has lost a lot of time in the middle sector, Norris has gone quicker than before but not enough to trouble the leaders yet.
