    The referee allowed play to continue before coming back to show Down's Ryan McEvoy a yellow card for shoving Oisin McConville on the side line as the ball trickled over.

    So far the game has been relatively quiet following that opening goal. Both sides recording quite a few wides.

    A bright start for the hosts, with late change John McGovern stealing centre stage.

    A high ball into the square causes some confusion for the Wicklow defence. McGovern manages to fist the ball into the back of the Wicklow net.

    Wicklow goalkeeper Mark Jackson slots a 45 over the bar to register his sides first score of the day.

    "We did what we came to do and get a bit of momentum, back-to-back wins which we've struggled to do for a while.

    "It was sticky enough but I thought we learned well. There were black cards, red cards, it was a chaotic game at times but we were able to see the game out.

    "We weren't finishing our attacks. It was a warm day and our energy wasn't where it needed to be but we learned and the boys were a lot more clinical in the second half."

    Cavan and Roscommon meet in Longford with both sides hoping to save their season and emerge from the group of death with Dublin and Mayo.

    The Breffni County look to bounce back from defeat to the All-Ireland Champions, Dublin and are still without talisman, Paddy Lynch.

    Roscommon lost at home to Mayo a fortnight ago and will look to Enda Smith to inspire.

    The winner will advance to an away preliminary quarter-final and for the loser their summer is over.

    On the Down team Finn McElroy, Paddy McCarthy, Ryan McGill and John McGovern will replace Johnny Flynn, Danny Magill, Ryan Johnston and Oisin Savage.

    On the Wicklow team Padraig O'Toole, Chris O'Brien and Eoin Darcy come in for Gavin Fogarty, Oisin McGraynor and Craig Maguire.

    Donegal cruise past Clare at Castlebar and look set to finish top of group 3 and qualify for the All-Ireland quarter-finals in a fortnight's time.

    Ryan McHugh and Oisin Gallen both registering 1-4 a piece as the Tir Chonaill finished with 12 different scorers.

    It was more like a training session than a championship game for Jim McGuinness' side who cruised into a 1-11 to 0-1 lead at the break hitting eleven points without reply.

    Jim McGuinness will be glad of the break before the last eight after the hardest championship run of any county thus far.
