Max Verstappen is just 24 thousandths of a second off George Russell's time as he goes second quickest.

The reigning world champion has actually done the exact same time as Lando Norris. Very little between the leading trio.

Fernando Alonso continues his point less run matching his first ever season in F1 back when he was with Minardi in 2001.

Several drivers are now back out on softs and George Russell improves with 1:13.046.

There's a good lap from his fellow Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli as he goes second quickest, just two tenths off Russell.

Hearing McLaren reportedly ran two different rear wings on their two cars in FP1. Now they're running the same rear wing for this session.

It's weird one. I'm looking at the weather and there's a head wind into Turn 10. We've seen a couple guys that have gone off there. I don't know whether they're expecting a bit more grip. Gabriel Bortoleto is not the first to have go off there this weekend and I'm sure he won't be the last.

There's also a lot of work going on Oliver Bearman's car after his spin and trip into the gravel.

The majority of drivers head back to the pits after completing the first part of their programmes for second practice.

Lance Stroll hasn't sounded happy with his Aston Martin and he's out of his car while some work is done on it.

George Russell goes quickest now as he does a 1:13.501, a tenth quicker than Lando Norris.

Turn Three is not a corner you want to find yourself in the gravel. It's a very fast right-hander with not a lot of run off for the speed that you're going through there. He won't have enjoyed that.

"Mate, it's a joke the traffic!"

Oliver Bearman's Haas is briefly into the gravel at Turn Three. No major harm done as he trundles back onto the track with some dusty tyres.

Oscar Piastri is told he is fastest through sector one.

"Maybe I should drift more often," he responds.

Everyone is out on mediums and everyone has clocked a time eight minutes into the session.

"Balance feels much better than FP1."

The McLarens swiftly get cracking as Lando Norris sets the early benchmark with a 1:13.636.

Oscar Piastri is second quickest, three tenths slower than Norris, before Max Verstappen splits the McLarens.

Some slight shenanigans in the pit lane as Nico Hulkenberg tries to get out ahead of Max Verstappen but the space wasn't really there. Verstappen speeds up a bit to get a shift on and Hulkenberg is able to slot in.

Charles Leclerc is among those heading out early doors.

Interestingly he's never scored a podium here. Will that change this weekend?
