A dip of the wheel onto the gravel at the second Lesmo by Charles Leclerc doesn't open the door to George Russell to close up on the Ferrari. Out in front, this feels like the Red Bull of previous season, with Max Verstappen comfortable leading the pack.

Charles Leclerc in fourth is being given a pep take by his engineer. Ferrari think the Monegasque driver is putting in a decent display so far, even after his back and forth with Oscar Piastri for third place earlier in this race.

Nigel: If Verstappen forced Norris off of the track and also missed the chicane why is he no longer being investigated? Giving back the place would be for the chicane not the forcing off. Are we seeing the usual turn a blind eye to Red Bull?

Andy: Maybe Lewis would have been able to win his next title had he joined McLaren or stayed at Mercedes or jumped to Red Bull? ? Ferrari yet to win any main race and it's September?!

Anon: Verstappen held on to that pole illegally until the point he was guaranteed DRS. It’s calculated and should still be penalised, stewards are far too weak
