The yellow flags were out briefly as the Williams of Carlos Sainz is tagged by the Haas of Oliver Bearman. "He just turned in front of me like I wasn't there!" said Brit Bearman. Both cars were sent spinning, with Sainz now 14th and Bearman in P15. The stewards are going to take a look at this one.

Over at Red Bull, race leader Max Verstappen makes his first visit to the pits to take off his mediums and bolt on the hard compound. He comes back on to the track in third place, so Lando Norris is now the leader of this Italian Grand Prix, with Oscar Piastri up to second, but the McLarens are yet to pit.
Tyre chat takes centre stage over at McLaren as Lando Norris is once again asked how he feels about the soft tyres. The Briton feels OK about it doing the opposite of leader Max Verstappen.
The front runners seem to be going for as long as they can on this medium tyre before perhaps swapping to a soft tyre to go for an aggressive but quick final stint.
Charles Leclerc takes over from George Russell as the fastest man on track on the hard tyre. Russell, meanwhile, has picked off the Haas of Esteban Ocon, who hasn't pitted, for seventh place.
"If we are not under threat, why did we stop now?" asks Charles Leclerc to his pit wall. His engineer replies they'll discuss it later. Leclerc locked up when he entered the pit lane, so will race control have one eye on that incident?

The entrance into the pits wasn't exactly smooth for Charles Leclerc but the pit stop by Ferrari was, so the Monegasque is in and out in a flash and rejoins the action in sixth place, behind the Williams of Alex Albon.
