Summary

  1. 'Shouldn't be happening at this level'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 18 May

    Kerry 0-8 Monaghan 0-2

    Aaron Kernan
    Former Armagh defender on GAAGO

That would be annoying for Vinnie Corey. Monaghan have 15 players pretty much inside their '45, yet Tony Brosnan is able to look, see the space, solo in almost to the edge of the 'D' and tap it over from straight in front of the goals.

The fact you have 14 men back all well positioned and you're not making contact or you're not forcing him out to the wings.

That's disappointing when you have so many people there. It's a fundamental that shouldn't be happening at this level.

  2. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 18 May

After seven straight points for the hosts, Conor McCarthy's splits the posts for Monaghan.

  4. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 18 May

The Farneymen struggling at present. Tom O'Sullivan fists over after getting on the end of a beautifully measured pass from David Clifford.

  5. 'Good save, bad finish'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 May

    Kerry 0-5 Monaghan 0-1

    Aaron Kernan
    Former Armagh defender on GAAGO

Good save, bad finish whatever way you want to look at it.

This is exactly what we said the Kerry issue was against Cork and the Kerry issue was against Clare. Straight down the centre of defence, one pass over the top and putting a player of Conor McCarthy's calibre in there.

That's something that you thought was definitely going to be ironed out from Kerry's perspective and something that Monaghan might look to take advantage of as the game progresses.

  6. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 May

    Antrim 1-12 Galway 2-18

It's all getting away from 14-man Antrim now as Galway have opened a nine-point gap. 13 to go and hard to see a way back for the Saffrons now

Monaghan contributing to their own downfall here by losing possession. Tom O'Sullivan stretches Kerry's lead to four.

  9. 'O'Hanlon hugely influential'published at 15:13 British Summer Time 18 May

    Kerry 0-3 Monaghan 0-1

    Aaron Kernan
    Former Armagh defender on GAAGO

The big match up for me is that they've put Tom O'Sullivan on Stephen O'Hanlon, who is the best player, granted it was back at the start of the National League. He's hugely influential with a serious turn of pace.

Is he going to do a man-marking job or is he going to try put him on the back foot?

It's one to keep an eye on.

  10. Tailteann Cup - Round 2published at 15:10 British Summer Time 18 May

  12. goal

Goal - Conor Cooney (Galway)published at 15:06 British Summer Time 18 May

    Antrim 1-11 Galway 2-13

It's gone from bad to worse for Antrim as Galway are awarded a penalty and Conor Cooney makes no mistake. It was looking promising for the Saffrons not so long ago but the calls have gone against them as Galway now lead 2-13 to 1-11.

  17. Red card - Ryan McGarry (Antrim)published at 15:00 British Summer Time 18 May

    Antrim 1-11 Galway 1-13

Disaster for Antrim as Ryan McGarry is shown red for a high challenge on Conor Whelan. Galway with three scores to begin the half and grab back the lead

  18. 'They've had plenty of time to regroup since Cavan'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 18 May

    Kerry v Monaghan (15:00 BST)

    Aaron Kernan
    Former Armagh defender on GAAGO

To be fair to Monaghan, they started off the league campaign really well. They were ravaged by injury, they haven't been able to get a full team out and haven't picked up a win since.

The longer that goes on the more doubt that creep in and the more it is to build confidence and continuity within a squad.

They've had plenty of time to regroup since the Cavan game.

  19. Second half underwaypublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 18 May

    Antrim 1-11 Galway 1-10

So, we're back in action at Corrigan Park. Antrim lead by one, so can they push on or will Galway find a response after a poor showing in the first half? We're about to find out.
