That red flag is a shame because Hamilton has done a good lap.

The cars have headed back into the garages.

The Aston Martin of Lance Stroll was set to join the track but had to get wheeled back by his mechanics.

Red flag has been waved.

Lewis Hamilton was on a fast lap but had to back out.

The soft tyres are being bolted on for the drivers, we have just 10 minutes left of practice.

Time for some qualifying laps?

There has been 163 drivers who represented the United Kingdom in F1, and 11 have won the British Grand Prix.

Stirling Moss, Peter Collins, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, John Watson, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert, David Coulthard and Lewis Hamilton have all claimed wins at their home race.

Can Lando Norris or George Russell add their names to the list?

I do worry about this – if you are going around the circuit at a consistently lower pace than guys going flat out, all these things are a big problem.

The Williams of Carlos Sainz runs wide, no spins for him in this session.

Liam Lawson was noted for erratic driving, but no action taken by the FIA.

McLaren have a special livery for Silverstone.

The papaya team have added a splash of chrome to their cars, a nod to the team's history in F1.
