    Wrexham 0-0 Charlton

It's worth pointing out that Charlton have been on the charge since the turn of the year in League One.

Only two losses in 20 games have taken them from 12th to their current position of fifth but still in the mix for automatic promotion.

    Wrexham 0-0 Charlton

Wrexham have not played in the second tier of English football since 1982.

That season 43 years ago featured matches against Chelsea and Newcastle - very different times indeed!

Phil Parkinson decides 'same again' for Wrexham from the side that won at Blackpool on Easter Monday.

It's a side packed with experience - James McClean, Matty James, Jay Rodriguez. Will they help Wrexham get over the line?

There are two changes to the Charlton side that won so impressively at Wycombe five days ago.

Tennai Watson and Karoy Anderson come into Nathan Jones' line-up as Luke Berry and Thierry Small miss out with injury.

  6. Cambridge relegated, the Gas and Crawley destined for the samepublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 26 April

Cambridge's loss to Burton Albion means they join Shrewsbury in League Two next season.

It looks like they will soon be joined by Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town.

Crawley put in a valiant effort to beat Northampton 3-0 but unless they can somehow pull back a 12-goal deficit on the Brewers, it's all over for them.

That's if Burton don't win their midweek game against Wigan Athletic and send both sides into their final game without even a shot at doing something spectacular to save themselves.

  7. Notts secure play-offs, Walsall drop more pointspublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 26 April

Walsall's misery continues as their loss means they lose out on the chance to return to the automatic promotion spots and put the third place finish in Bradford City's hands on the final day.

The Saddlers are, however, guaranteed a play-off spot and the battle to make it there is sizzling.

Notts County are the only other side to have firmed up their place, while Salford City's dazzling 4-1 over rivals Colchester puts them in the final spot... for now.

Colchester can still make it, as can Chesterfield and Grimsby Town.

Who will grab those last two spots? I'm not sure but I'm certain it's going to make for one very thrilling matchday.

  8. Carlisle join Morecambe in National Leaguepublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 26 April

The great escape looked briefly likely for Mark Hughes' Carlisle, but their 20-year stay in the EFL comes to an end after a 3-2 defeat at Cheltenham.

They join Morecambe in dropping into the National League.

Tranmere and Accrington Stanley both secured their status in the fourth tier - though both would have been safe anyway with Carlisle's defeat - by beating Crewe and Walsall respectively.

    FT: Doncaster 2-1 Bradford City

Billy Sharp following Doncaster's promotion to League One

Billy Sharp speaking to BBC Sport's Sanny Rudravajhala following Doncaster's promotion earlier this afternoon:

"When I spoke with the gaffer in the summer, I was on my holiday and I said to him, 'look, I really want to be a part of this group'.

"It suited me for me and my family location-wise, and I felt I had something to offer to to the club and the gaffer gave me the opportunity and I'm just happy to be a part of this group. The lads have taken to me and I've enjoyed every single minute of it.

"The promotions get sweeter and I'm lucky that's a sixth one. I remember my first one when I was 18 at Scunthorpe with Cliff Byrne who is now the gaffer's number two, so it was nice to share that with him as well.

"I'm the lucky one to get the opportunity to come on the pitch. I got sent off a few weeks ago and I let the lads down and I've had to sit it out and to be honest, they didn't let me down.

"They won the games to get us where we are today and I've just been the lucky one to get the opportunity to score and credit to Ted [Teddy Sharman-Lowe} as well with a penalty save.

"That has won it for us again and made sure that we have got the job done today because we didn't want to have to wait until next week."

Burton are only one point away from mathematical safety, but they are just about there.

Today was their day against Cambridge!

    FT: Cheltenham 3-2 Carlisle

    Jonny Reay
    Summariser on BBC Radio Cumbria

    I am absolutely gutted.

I remember it the last time we went out of the EFL and I can't believe I am watching it happen again.

We all thought this season was going to be a magical one and we would bounce back.

But it has just been an absolute nightmare.

Away from the main plotlines of ups and downs, there's an exciting play-off race in League Two.

Salford's 4-1 thrashing of fellow hopefuls Colchester United today means they move into seventh on goal difference from Grimsby, who were held 0-0 at MK Dons. Chesterfield too, have put themselves in the mix with a 4-1 win over already-relegated Morecambe.

Here are the rest of the scores:

    Barrow 3-3 Bromley

    Fleetwood 2-0 Newport

    Gillingham 1-1 Swindon

  17. CAMBRIDGE UNITED RELEGATED TO LEAGUE TWOpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 26 April
    Breaking

    FT: Burton 1-0 Cambridge

Cambridge pulled back an equaliser but Burton's second strike settled their fate - the U's are heading down to League Two next season.

As for Burton, well a win sees them all but safe with the superior goal difference over Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town being a mountain it would take a miracle to overcome.

Practically ensuring themselves safety and resigning three teams to relegation all in an afternoon's work.

Not too bad but they will get the chance to make their feat official if they win during the midweek without the remaining two hopefuls even stepping foot on a matchday pitch.

  18. Raining cards at Prenton Park!published at 17:04 British Summer Time 26 April

    FT: Tranmere 2-0 Crewe

It did not matter but it finished 10 against nine at Prenton Park!

Tranmere's Regan Hendry was sent off, while Zak Williams saw red for Crewe - both deep into injury time - to go with the earlier one for Tom Lowery.

All three will be having the final Saturday of the season off!

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 26 April

    Cheltenham 3-2 Carlisle

A dramatic day in Cheltenham ends with Carlisle saying farewell to the EFL.

They were ahead, they fell behind, they equalised before George Miller's injury time strike finished them off.

All academic though as Tranmere beat Crewe to take care of their job.

GOAL: Burton 2-1 Cambridgepublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 26 April

    Dylan Williams (93 mins)

    MASSIVE!

Dylan Williams cuts a superb strike from an angle to score his first ever goal for the side and very likely save his side from relegation given the goal difference between them and their rivals.

Not such good news for Cambridge, who are facing relegation very soon.
