"Dan Greaves is seeing plenty of St George's flags in the crowd during his lap of honour. Wales team captain Aled Davies is also making his way around the track, using his national flag as a cape, and thanking his supporters. One child runs to the front row and sticks his hand out for a high-five. Davies does the honours."

England's gold medallist Dan Greaves on BBC One: "This is on a par with London, the crowd were phenomenal. I wanted to give them a great performance, they pushed me all the way.

"Aled Davies and I have competed against each other all season, it's been a bit of a ding-dong, but as soon as I threw 59m, I thought I had a good chance of winning it.

"I was born during the Commonwealth Games in 1982, my parents were avidly watching during my mother's labour, so winning a Commonwealth title is right up there with any of my achievements."

The all-English final takes place later this afternoon. The Rumble of the Jungle that Matthew is talking about was the name of a legendary heavyweight world title bout between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman that took place in Zaire in October 1974. Ali won in the eighth-round.

Will either Matthew or Willstrop produce the knockout blow to the other's gold medal hopes. We will find out at 15:45 BST.

Wales benefit from a flying start which saw them go two up inside three minutes thanks to a couple of sharp penalty corners from Richard Gay.

The host nation worked their way back into the contest and cut the deficit through Chris Grassock, but a hat-trick strike from Gay just before the break leaves Wales in command.

"For me the highlight has been the pride of seeing we've got this facility in Scotland now, which is going to guarantee future champions, and not just champions, young kids getting on their bikes.

"I think the home nations have done very well. The recent World Championships in Colombia was a disappointing one for the GB team, but the home nations have done well here.

"You look at individual performances: Laura Trott, Jason Kenny, Scotland's Katie Archibald, who's got a fantastic career ahead of her."

England's Nigel Levine on BBC One: "I kept pressing in the home straight but unfortunately I didn't catch the guy in third. It was quite a difficult race, it was not a good round for me. Hopefully I make it through to the next round as a fastest loser."

Levine finished fourth in his heat, outside the automatic qualification places, and now faces an anxious wait as only three fastest losers spots are available.

    Colin Jackson
Two-time CWG champion and BBC Sport athletics pundit

"I'm very excited about Kirani James. He's gone under 44 seconds this year on quite a few occasions. He's a beautiful, rangy runner, but he's so youthful in his approach - I think that's what makes him magical.

"He has this real sense of responsibility - he sees it as his chance to put Grenada on the map. I want to see him run really fast - I think he could break the world record."

Northern Ireland skip Neil Booth on BBC One: "You're always disappointed when you get a silver but the guys can be very proud. There's only one treble ahead of us and they played very well. It's been very satisfying coming back from the bad starts we've had, we could easily have fallen down in the quarter-finals.

"We've still got the fours to go so hopefully we can finish on a high, and I've no idea what the odds of a fairytale finish are. We'll have a couple of ciders tonight and then we'll get our heads right for the fours."

Booth is retiring at the end of this Commonwealth Games. He and his Northern Ireland team-mates have one last chance to claim glory in the men's fours.

"The flag and scarf sellers outside the stadium are enjoying a roaring trade, too. Kenya scarves, Wales scarves - pick your Commonwealth country and there's a scarf available for you. Well, unless you pick St Helena, or Solomon Islands, or Brunei Darussalam... I could go on..."
