Tuesday's action
There could be another podium rendition of Flower of Scotland tomorrow in the pool as Hannah Miley takes on Wales' Jazz Carlin in the 400m freestyle final.
Elsewhere the men's team gymnastics looks interesting with Great Britain team-mates Kristian Thomas, Sam Oldham and Max Whitlock, and Dan Purvis and Daniel Keatings, divided along England and Scotland lines respectively.
In shooting, Northern Irish full bore specialist David Calvert returns to the Commonwealth Games for a 10th time as part of the team for Glasgow, having won four gold and four bronze medals since his debut at the Edmonton Games of 1978.
What does that all mean for the medals table? Well, those pesky Aussies are still top, but today's tip of the hat goes to Scotland in third.
Thirteen gold medals, the latest of which were Libby Clegg's T12 100m success and victory for Alex Marshall and Paul Foster in the men's pairs, is a national record for the Commonwealth Games.

Time for your bullet-train review of what happened in today's action.
"Nicola showed her class and ability. She overwhelmed Oluwantoyin Oladeji, who was probably saved by the bell in the end. It was first class and I think she will be too good for anyone else here."

Nicola Adams finishes like a train, buzzing around a weary Oluwatoyin Oladeji like an irate hornet, throwing stinging shots at the struggling Nigerian. A clear victory and the Englishwoman is all grins as she salutes each side of the ring with shadow punches.
An impressive and, by the looks of it, enjoyable opening.

Clemencia Sioneholo represents Niue Island, one of the smallest nations in the Commonwealth Games, in the #71club.
"We're a small nation, but if you come to our land, we have a big heart. You'll have fun," says the shooter of home, which is 1,500 miles north-east of New Zealand.
She adds that back home, islanders sometimes use the local flying fox population for target practice - eating the proceeds. "It's a delicacy."
Ollie is attempting to interview a competitor from all 71 nations and territories by the end of the Games. He also grabbed Canada's Susan Nattrass - one of the most decorated shooters at the event - today. His tally is up to 37, and he's targeting 10 more in athletics and boxing on Tuesday.

"Nicola looks very relaxed, very comfortable and is showcasing her talents. That's three rounds out of three now."
Boxing
Nicola Adams's quality shines through. The Yorkshirewoman snaps her opponent's head back with a heavy left hand flush on the chin. Round three is marked down to her by all of the judges.
Boxing
Nicola Adams is in perpetual motion, dodging, ducking and constantly readjusting the space between the fighters to her advantage.
While Oluwatoyin Oladeji's shots come in singles, Adams is stringing together slick combinations and that is enough to bag up the second round on all three cards.

"Safe to say Nicola Adams won that first round. She's just warming up and getting her timing right. She will be more and more in control of this fight because she's too good for this girl."
Boxing
A cagey opening round with Oluwantoyin Oladeji refusing to make it easy for Nicola Adams by blundering in blindly.
Adams did manage to get through with more quality though, a jab as fast a viper strike and a strong right hand over the top convince all three judges that the round is her's.
Boxing
They have waited a long time, but the SECC fans get their reward.
England's Olympic flyweight champion Nicola Adams is led to the ring to the strains of Blur's Song Two. She waves a gloved fist to acknowledge the support, before upper-cutting thin air.
Her opponent is Nigeria's Oluwantoyin Oladeji. Ding-ding, seconds out.
Time to taste the leather.

Wales' women have lost their first two matches, 2-0 to England and 9-0 to Australia. Scotland are also coming off the back of a 9-0 thrashing by Australia.
"England's Max Whitlock may be the European champion on the floor but it's team-mate Sam Oldham who has the crowd waving their St George's flags with a dazzling display.
"The 20-year-old is such a strong all-around gymnast and one of the reasons why Louis Smith may find it tough to make the Rio Olympics, should he decide to continue in the sport after these Games."

The men's 400 metres is the next event on the track. These are the heats, with the semi-finals on Tuesday and the final on Wednesday. Our man Colin Jackson thinks one athlete is the clear favourite to win the gold.
Gold Medal

England's Dan Greaves has shown his strength to become men's F42/44 discus champion after throwing a best of 59.21m in the third round.
Silver Medal
Aled Davies (Wales) - Para-sport F42/44 discus
A best throw of 46.83m is not good enough for Welsh captain Aled Davies who has to settle for silver in the Para-sport discus event.

Men's triples final - South Africa 19-10 Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland skip Neil Booth on BBC One: "You're always disappointed when you get a silver but the guys can be very proud. There's only one treble ahead of us and they played very well. It's been very satisfying coming back from the bad starts we've had, we could easily have fallen down in the quarter-finals.
"We've still got the fours to go so hopefully we can finish on a high, and I've no idea what the odds of a fairytale finish are. We'll have a couple of ciders tonight and then we'll get our heads right for the fours."
Booth is retiring at the end of this Commonwealth Games. He and his Northern Ireland team-mates have one last chance to claim glory in the men's fours.

The back pages this morning have been dominated by the face of 13-year-old Erraid Davies, who captured the hearts of the nation with her bronze in the SB9 100m breaststroke last night.
Davies's remarkable achievements means she joins an illustrious group of sporting prodigies who have tasted success at a tender age.
American tennis player Jennifer Capriati (pictured) was 14 when she stormed through to the semi-finals of the French Open in 1990.

At the halfway point of the men's F42/44 discus, it looks like a straight fight between England's Dan Greaves and Wales's Aled Davies.
Greaves, who is an F44 athlete, has thrown a best of 59.21m for 1023 points, while Davies (pictured), who has a more severe impairment and competes in the F42 category, has thrown 46.83m and scored 1012 points.
Gold medal
South Africa - Men's triples lawn bowls
Northern Ireland's comeback proves short-lived as South Africa win 19-10 to take gold.
The silver is Northern Ireland's second medal of the games but leaves them waiting to find the top step of the podium.
It also means no fairytale finish to skip Neil Booth's triples career with Northern Ireland. For South Africa, it's a third gold at Kelvingrove.
Gault announces retirement
CommonwealthGamesENG on Twitter: Michael Gault OBE announces his retirement from competitive shooting after equalling the all-time Commonwealth Games medal tally.
Gault, who has won 18 Commonwealth Games medals, failed to qualify for the final of the men's 50m pistol event earlier today.
Hockey
Wales v Scotland
Wales v Scotland (11.00 BST): This is a must-win game for two sides who have yet to taste victory in Glasgow. The home nations are currently propping up Group A with two defeats from two matches each, and already a place in the semi-finals looks a long shot.
But this game is about far more than qualification - there's plenty of Celtic pride at stake when these sides go head to head. Both teams will also be looking to bounce back following bruising defeats in their last matches, with Scotland losing 6-2 to India and Wales going down 7-1 to Australia.
Goalkeepers Daniel Kettle of Wales and Jamie Cachia of Scotland have seen plenty of action so far, and an inspired performance between the sticks could be the difference in what looks set to be a tight encounter.

Bowls
Men's Triples final latest - Northern Ireland 10-14 South Africa
Northern Ireland pull back seven shots in three ends as they mount a late fightback to keep alive hopes of an unlikely win.
Neil Mulholland is the main man in end 13 as he helps set up a treble which at least gives South Africa something to think about.
Skip Neil Booth then presses home the advantage in the following end to narrow the gap further, with just four ends to go.
Wales are 12-11 up against Australia after 14 ends as they go for bronze.
Another thumping win for the world champions. Australia score three times in each half to power towards the semi-finals. The Aussies, nicknamed 'The Kookaburras', beat the Dutch 6-1 in the world final last month - in the Netherlands - so it's hard to see anyone getting close to them in Glasgow.
The Para-sport discus competition involves athletes from two categories - F42 and F44 - both for competitors with lower leg impairments.
The winner will be the athlete who gets closest to the world record in their respective category and is on a points basis.
To give you an idea, the F42 world record is held by Aled Davies at 48.69 metres while the F44 world record is 63.46m.

Men's Decathlon - 100m
Australia to Scotland is an awful long way. If you have travelled from down under then you want to put in a good showing. What you definitely don't want to do, is what 20-year-old Jake Stein has just done.
Two false starts in the first event of the decathlon, the 100m, sees him disqualified from that race, therefore scoring no points and ending his medal hopes before the first starting gun has been fired.
He is angry at himself and doesn't know what to do. He stomps around at the back of the track, sits down in the seats with his head in his hands and then has to go back to his starting blocks when he is formally shown the red card.

Men's decathlon (10:00 BST)
Obviously, no Daley this time around, he is 55 after all, but this year's competition begins at 10:00 BST with the first event, the 100m.
The schedule for the decathlon is -
Today (all times BST): 10:00 - 100m, 11:05 - long jump, 12:40 - shot put, 19:00 - high jump, 21:05 - 400m
If you mention the word 'decathlon', then I'm sure Daley Thompson will soon come to mind. The legendary English athlete dominated the 10-discipline event in the late 70s and 80s.
He won gold in the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978, Brisbane four years later and then again in Edinburgh in 1986, the last time Scotland hosted the competition before Glasgow 2014.

England's Mick Gault has begun what could be a historic 50m pistol event as the 60-year-old from Norfolk looks to win a record 19th Commonwealth Games medal.
Gault, who came out of retirement to compete in Glasgow, tied the all-time record with bronze in the 10m air pistol on Saturday.

The 13-year-old is a Para swimmer and has a problem with one of her hip bones which restricts some movement.

Yesterday's news
Rugby sevens

All good runs must come to an end eventually. New Zealand's rugby sevens' record was perfect, they had won gold every time they had competed.
But this time they had to settle for silver as they lost 17-12 to South Africa in the final.
But before we go any further, here are some headlines that you may have missed from last night.
In the pool, Fran Halsall won her second gold of these Games, third Commonwealth title and 10th Commonwealth medal overall, as England claimed another two golds in the pool.

Halsall, 24, emulated her 50m freestyle success in the 50m butterfly after Siobhan-Marie O'Connor (pictured), 18, had won the 200m individual medley.
Scotland's men's 4x200m freestyle team won silver, while compatriots Hannah Miley, 24, and Erraid Davies, 13, both took bronze, as did England's Liam Tancock in the men's 50m backstroke.
Johnson unimpressed with Gemili
But not everyone was impressed by Gemili's effort and BBC pundit Michael Johnson, an Olympic gold medallist at 200m, 400m and 4 x 400m relay, wants to see more from the English sprinter.
"I wasn't that excited by Gemili's performance," said the American. "What has impressed me so much over the last couple of years is his technique, but he looked a little tight.
"When he runs well I'd like to see him look more like he expected it, not like 'Oh my god, that was great'."
From Stamford Bridge to Hampden Park
If things had worked out differently, Adam Gemili could be a Premier League footballer now. By 22:00 BST tonight, he could be the men's 100m Commonwealth Games champion.
Gemili, 20, spent nearly eight years at Chelsea's academy but was released in 2008 before spells at Reading and Dagenham and Redbridge.

However, a trip to local athletics club Blackheath and Bromley in 2010 changed his life. Less than a year later he won his first 100m race in under 11 seconds and decided to give up football to become a sprinter.
Now he has a gold medal from the 2012 World Junior Championships and was the fastest qualifier in Sunday's 100m heats, clocking a time of 10.15 seconds.
The main attraction
So, Rosefelo Siosi was one of the athletics stories of yesterday, but today things get serious on the track.

A long way from home
The other 23 athletes in the men's 5,000m had long completed the race but Rosefelo Siosi, who had been lapped three times by the leading runners, was desperate to finish.
Only 17 years old and without a coach, Siosi, running 9,000 miles from home, was cheered on as if he was from Glasgow by a packed crowd at Hampden Park.

He finished more than one-and-a-half minutes behind his nearest competitor and almost four minutes behind Kenya's winner Caleb Ndiku.
But Siosi never gave up, ran a personal best, set a new national record, won the crowd's hearts and typified the spirit of the Commonwealth Games.
It's not the winning...
Not everyone can win gold. For some, reaching the finish line against all odds is their victory, their triumph, their moment of glory.

Great Britain's Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards waved and launched himself into notoriety with his fearless ski jumping antics, as he soared through the Calgary sky at the 1988 Winter Olympics - and came last.

And now we can add the name of teenage 5,000m runner Rosefelo Siosi from the Solomon Islands to the list of athletes that show that sometimes it is all about the taking part. He came, he saw, he finished.

In athletics, England's Adam Gemili took silver behind Jamaica's Kemar Bailey-Cole in the 100m, while Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare completed the first half of a possible sprint double in the women's race.
In swimming, Jazz Carlin became the first Welsh woman to win Commonwealth Games gold in the pool in 40 years when she eased to victory in the 800m freestyle.
In squash, defending champion Nick Matthew saw off the challenge of compatriot James Willstrop to retain his title in a five-game epic.

"Nicola showed her class and ability. She overwhelmed Oluwantoyin Oladeji, who was probably saved by the bell in the end. It was first class and I think she will be too good for anyone else here."
Boxing
Nicola Adams finishes like a train, buzzing around a weary Oluwatoyin Oladeji like an irate hornet, throwing stinging shots at the struggling Nigerian. A clear victory and the Englishwoman is all grins as she salutes each side of the ring with shadow punches.
An impressive and, by the looks of it, enjoyable opening.

Number 36 - Clemenca Sionehelo - Niue Island

Boxing
Barry McGuigan

"Nicola's coaches in the corner were very happy with the second round. She's dominating this and don't be surprised if the Nigerian girl gets a count this round. Very impressive from Nicola so far."
Boxing
Barry McGuigan
BBC Sport boxing expert, on Radio 5 live

"I was born during the Commonwealth Games in 1982, my parents were avidly watching during my mother's labour, so winning a Commonwealth title is right up there with any of my achievements."

Men's light-flyweight
Northern Ireland heavyweight Steven Ward on Twitter posts a picture of Paddy Barnes preparing for his fight tonight with a game of pool.
Barnes fights Tanzania's Hamadi Furahisha for a place in the light-flyweight quarter-finals at 18.35 BST this evening.
Squash
Men's singles, final (15:45 BST)
BBC's Matthew Pinsent on Twitter: The Nick Matthew v James Willstrop final is the Rumble in the Jungle of squash. Don't know what the rope-a-dope equivalent is though.
The all-English final takes place later this afternoon. The Rumble of the Jungle that Matthew is talking about was the name of a legendary heavyweight world title bout between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman that took place in Zaire in October 1974. Ali won in the eighth-round.
Will either Matthew or Willstrop produce the knockout blow to the other's gold medal hopes. We will find out at 15:45 BST.
Hockey
Half-time - Scotland 1-3 Wales
Wales benefit from a flying start which saw them go two up inside three minutes thanks to a couple of sharp penalty corners from Richard Gay.
The host nation worked their way back into the contest and cut the deficit through Chris Grassock, but a hat-trick strike from Gay just before the break leaves Wales in command.

Men's 400m heats
England 800m runner Marilyn Okoro on Twitter: Michael Bingham looked fantastic #CruiseControl great qualification
Bingham qualified second in his heat, behind Olympic champion Kirani James.
Cycling
Former Olympic and Commonwealth champion Chris Hoy on BBC Radio 5 live: "I've been at the velodrome all week, seeing the medals and seeing the reaction of the crowd.
"For me the highlight has been the pride of seeing we've got this facility in Scotland now, which is going to guarantee future champions, and not just champions, young kids getting on their bikes.
"I think the home nations have done very well. The recent World Championships in Colombia was a disappointing one for the GB team, but the home nations have done well here.
"You look at individual performances: Laura Trott, Jason Kenny, Scotland's Katie Archibald, who's got a fantastic career ahead of her."

Men's Para-sport F42/44 discus
Baroness Grey-Thompson

Swimming
Men's 50m freestyle
The fastest swimmers in town line up for the ultimate 'splash and dash', and it's Australian Cameron McEvoy who goes fastest in the heats with a time of 22.04 seconds, just ahead of compatriot Matt Abood and England's Ben Proud.
Athletics
Men's 400m heats
England's Nigel Levine on BBC One: "I kept pressing in the home straight but unfortunately I didn't catch the guy in third. It was quite a difficult race, it was not a good round for me. Hopefully I make it through to the next round as a fastest loser."
Levine finished fourth in his heat, outside the automatic qualification places, and now faces an anxious wait as only three fastest losers spots are available.

Men's 400m heats
Colin Jackson
Two-time CWG champion and BBC Sport athletics pundit
"I'm very excited about Kirani James. He's gone under 44 seconds this year on quite a few occasions. He's a beautiful, rangy runner, but he's so youthful in his approach - I think that's what makes him magical.
"He has this real sense of responsibility - he sees it as his chance to put Grenada on the map. I want to see him run really fast - I think he could break the world record."

Men's 400m heats
The men's 400 metres is the next event on the track. These are the heats, with the semi-finals on Tuesday and the final on Wednesday. Our man Colin Jackson thinks one athlete is the clear favourite to win the gold.
Gold Medal
Dan Greaves (England) - Para-sport F42/44 discus
England's Dan Greaves has shown his strength to become men's F42/44 discus champion after throwing a best of 59.21m in the third round.
Silver Medal
Aled Davies (Wales) - Para-sport F42/44 discus
A best throw of 46.83m is not good enough for Welsh captain Aled Davies who has to settle for silver in the Para-sport discus event.
Bowls

Young stars
The back pages this morning have been dominated by the face of 13-year-old Erraid Davies, who captured the hearts of the nation with her bronze in the SB9 100m breaststroke last night.
Davies's remarkable achievements means she joins an illustrious group of sporting prodigies who have tasted success at a tender age.

Bronze Medal
Wales - Men's triples lawn bowls
Wales add a bronze medal to their collection after beating Australia 16-13.
Athletics
Women's T11/12 100m
Also through to the T11/12 100m final is six-time Paralympian Tracey Hinton from Wales, who sets a new season's best of 13.80 seconds with her guide Steffan Hughes but England's Selena Litt is out.
Swimming
Women's 800m freestyle
There's an early bonus for the Tollcross crowd as they are treated to the unusual sight of a swim-off between New Zealand's Emma Robinson and Scotland's Aisha Thornton (pictured).
The two swimmers were ploughing up and down lanes four and five to decide, er, 10th place in the 800m freestyle. The prize for the winner? Second reserve for the final. It's actually a good contest, with Kiwi Robinson edging it down the final length.
Lots of heats to come this morning, next up it's the men's 200m backstroke - and 16-year-old Steven Maina of Kenya has just got in the wrong lane... Follow the action here.
Athletics
Men's discus F42/44 final
Athletics
Women's Para-sport T11/12 100m
The Para-sport T11/12 100m sprint heats are also taking place this morning for athletes with a visual impairment.

The final takes place at 20:00 BST - could she win Scotland's first athletics gold of the Games?

Hockey
Men's result - Australia 6-0 South Africa
Another thumping win for the world champions. Australia score three times in each half to power towards the semi-finals. The Aussies, nicknamed 'The Kookaburras', beat the Dutch 6-1 in the world final last month - in the Netherlands - so it's hard to see anyone getting close to them in Glasgow.
Next up it's Scotland v Wales, and you can watch the match here.
Athletics
Men's discus F42/44 final
The Para-sport discus competition involves athletes from two categories - F42 and F44 - both for competitors with lower leg impairments.
The winner will be the athlete who gets closest to the world record in their respective category and is on a points basis.
To give you an idea, the F42 world record is held by Aled Davies at 48.69 metres while the F44 world record is 63.46m.
Netball
Half-time - Wales 23-18 Barbados
In a match both sides must win to retain slender hopes of progressing, it's Wales who make it to the break in front, with Chelsea Lewis and Cara Lea Moseley sharing the majority of points between them.

Athletics
Men's decathlon - 100m
A hugely impressive opening event of the men's decathlon from Canada's Damien Warner. He wins his race in 10.29 seconds. As a comparison, England's Adam Gemili was the fastest sprinter in the men's 100m heats yesterday in 10.15.
Warner's time was quicker than times posted by English 100m runners Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Richard Kilty on Sunday.

Gault misses out on medal record
Mick Gault had described it as "job done" after he equalled the Games record of 18 medals in the 10m air pistol on Saturday, and that is where he will remain after the Englishman fails to qualify for the 50m final.
Gault, 60, could only manage 13th place in qualifying at the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre, with the top eight going through, among them England's Kristian Callaghan.
Athletics
Men's Decathlon - 100m
Denise Lewis
Athletics expert & twice CWG champion on BBC One
"Two false starts is unbelievable. You have nine events to go. I'm sorry for Jake Stein (see 10:10), but you have to have some discipline. You could see by his reaction that he is furious with himself."
Athletics

"Who will be the face of the 2014 Commonwealth Games? There's another seven days of action yet but judging by Monday's Scottish newspapers the 20th edition of the Games will forever be remembered for the moment a 13-year-old girl from Shetland melted the hearts of the world.
"Erraid Davies's beaming smile dominates the front front pages, with the Glasgow-based Herald describing her as 'the girl with a golden grin', who had had not told her classmates she had been selected to swim until a month ago.
"The Daily Record leads with the bronze medal winner in the 100m breaststroke para-sport under the headline 'Too pool for school' and call Erraid 'the little Merm-Erraid'."

Men's Triples final latest - Northern Ireland 3-11 South Africa
Northern Ireland's hopes of a first gold medal of the Games look to be fading fast on the bowling green at Kelvingrove.
Neil Booth stopped the rot with a shot bowl in end eight but a treble in the following end opened up real daylight for South Africa.
And South Africa followed up with a double in the next to go eight shots ahead with just eight ends to play.
It's tighter in the bronze medal match where Wales lead Australia 10-9.
Hockey
Half-time - Australia 3-0 South Africa
The Australian men are following the example set by their women at the National Hockey Centre, looking a class apart so far as they go into the break three goals clear of South Africa.
And as if that wasn't bad enough for South Africa, Timothy Drummond has to leave the field after taking the full force of an Australian penalty corner to his head. The Aussies are as concerned as anyone, rushing over to check he's OK, before he gingerly exits.

Men's decathlon (10:00 BST)
If you mention the word 'decathlon', then I'm sure Daley Thompson will soon come to mind. The legendary English athlete dominated the 10-discipline event in the late 70s and 80s.
He won gold in the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978, Brisbane four years later and then again in Edinburgh in 1986, the last time Scotland hosted the competition before Glasgow 2014.
Netball
Wales v Barbados
Wales play their penultimate match with their hopes of making the semi-finals very slim indeed, after heavy defeats by Australia (pictured) and England.

Bowls
Men's Triples final latest - Northern Ireland 2-6 South Africa
South Africa are starting to open up a gap as they chase gold by winning three successive ends.
After the first double of the final in end six they add another shot in end seven as Northern Ireland skip Neil Booth misses a couple of chances.
South Africa's lead off player Prince Neluonde is a bar man back home at his sporting club so he will be useful if it's celebration drinks all-round at the end.
Over on the other rink, Australia have edged ahead 7-6 against Wales as they battle for bronze.

"I live too far away from a pool to do morning training, so I train afternoon and late night every day. I didn't really know how to tell my schoolmates, but they know now and I've had lots of messages. I was a bit nervous going up to get the medal. I had my first Irn-Bru of the Games to celebrate."

The Times
The front and back pages of the Times' Commonwealth Games section has a cracking picture from yesterday's cycling, along with an inspirational quote from Sir Chris Hoy, who the velodrome is named after.
A proud family
"I'm absolutely proud, absolutely amazed. I just managed to stop crying but it was difficult," Erraid Davies's father David tells BBC Scotland.
The 13-year-old is a Para swimmer and has a problem with one of her hip bones which restricts some movement.
"When she was four, she could hardly walk," her father explains. "And so the pool was the only thing that kept her fit. She swam her first mile before she was six. She's been swimming ever since and just got better and better."
Scotland's youngest medallist
Today will need something special to beat Sunday's feel-good factor story when Scottish swimmer Erraid Davies won a bronze medal at the age of 13.
The youngster from the Shetland Islands, who will have some great stories to tell when she returns to school, triggered more than a few tears when she came third in the SB9 100m breaststroke final.
She is Scotland's youngest ever competitor and the youngest taking part in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Needless to say, she had the Tollcross swimming venue on its feet as she clocked a personal best time of one minute, 21.38 seconds.
Bowls
Men's Triples final
Northern Ireland will be collecting their second medal of the Games this morning, but which colour will it be?
Neil Booth is about to lead compatriots Neil Mulholland and Paul Daly against South Africa in the men's triples final at a cool, overcast Kelvingrove, with the Northern Irishman knowing it is his last ever match wearing his nation's colours. Booth has already won three Commonwealth medals and will retire after the final. Watch the action here.
Wales take on Australia in the match for the bronze medal with both games starting shortly.
Love is in the air
Scotland enjoyed a cycling love-in at the Games as they won a total of five medals in the velodrome.
And the romance extended beyond the track on the closing day on Sunday thanks to Chris Pritchard.
The Scot, 31, got off his bike at the end of the keirin event and climbed into the crowd to propose to girlfriend Amanda Ball.
The gesture stunned the watching crowd, if perhaps not Amanda herself, who thankfully said "yes."
"I have been nagging for long enough," she said. "The ring is just like the one I took a picture of and left on the iPad." Lovely.
Post update

Yesterday's news
Rugby sevens
All good runs must come to an end eventually. New Zealand's rugby sevens' record was perfect, they had won gold every time they had competed.
But this time they had to settle for silver as they lost 17-12 to South Africa in the final.
Yesterday's news

England's Laura Trott (pictured) won gold in the women's points race at the Commonwealth Games despite being laid low with a kidney infection.
Compatriot Jess Varnish won her second medal in Glasgow, a bronze in the women's sprint.
Scotland's Chris Pritchard won his long-term girlfriend Amanda's hand in marriage after popping the question immediately after riding the keirin.
Yesterday's news
Swimming
Today is the main attraction, the blue riband event, the race everyone wants to see. Today is 100 metres final day.
Hello again
Hello and welcome to BBC Sport's live text commentary for day five of the Commonwealth Games. Thank you for joining us and as usual this is the place to be for live streams and live commentary of all the action in all the sports from Glasgow 2014.
Stay with us for all the latest news from the Games, best reaction and video clips.
Eric 'The Eel' Moussambani from the tiny African country of Equatorial Guinea became a swimming hero in the 2000 Olympics as he raced against himself, despite looking like a man who might need rescuing at any moment.
At the 2012 Olympics, Hamadou Djibo Issaka of Niger, who had only been rowing for three months, was cheered on by 20,000 people in London as he battled to finish the men's single sculls event.
And now we can add the name of teenage 5,000m runner Rosefelo Siosi from the Solomon Islands to the list of athletes that show that sometimes it is all about the taking part. He came, he saw, he finished.
