    Neil Fachie on BBC One: "I won in Glasgow four years ago but this is just as momentous. It didn’t go entirely to plan but it was good enough to win. We had the worlds two weeks ago and that went stupendously well. Our rivals were out there as well so we knew we’d be up against it. There were a couple of errors but we just about did enough."

    Hannah Miley is one of the most loved Scottish athletes of recent times.

    Miley is bidding for a threepeat in this event having won it in Glasgow in 2014 and in Delhi in 2010.

    No Scottish athlete in Commonwealth Games history has done what she is attempting to do.

    She had England’s Aimee Willmott behind her in both of those finals and they’re up against each other again here. This is when the swimming gets really serious.
