Max Whitlock had a bit of downtime but he’s back competing, he retained his world title last year and in the national championships he was in great form on the pommel horse, so I haven’t got any worries about him not performing today.

    Men's artistic team final

Dan Purvis was solid in his first two routines but it went horribly wrong on the vault as the Scottish skipper landed on his bottom after over-rotating.

Immediately afterwards, England's Nile Wilson screams "come on" after he produces another excellent display on the parallel bars.

It's the best score on that apparatus and it takes Wilson into the lead on individual standings.

    England are currently 1-2-3-4 individually...dominant.

    Men's artistic team final

    Beth Tweddle
BBC Sport gymnastics expert on Radio 5 live

It’s England’s for the taking. They have a very strong team, with a double Olympic champion in Max Whitlock and Courtney Tulloch has just had a successful rings. They’re very hard to beat but in gymnastics it usually goes down to the last apparatus and anything can happen.

Qualification and competing for the team medals is nerve wracking today because it can make or break your Games.
