    Men's team final

England have no luck with their inquiry. The original score stands meaning Nile Wilson receives 14.150 for his routine on floor.

It won't make much difference in the team standings but given the competitiveness of the England team and the fact only two from the same country can qualify for the individual apparatus final, Wilson may be waiting around nervously to see if he can qualify.

There's an element of pacing. When it's over two or three minutes it's clear it's an endurance event, so this is the longest sprint. You have to ease yourself into that second lap and then go for it.

It's all about keeping that pole position in this event. The English team rode it extremely well. The Australian pair gave them an opportunity and they took it. I don't think they expected them to go that early.

"I'd rather come second to somebody that deserves to win."

South Africa's Chad le Clos finished second to England's Ben Proud in their 50m butterfly heat - but Proud was disqualified seconds after setting what would have been a Games record.

The England team appealed against the decision, but were unsuccessful.

"I didn't see him flinch at all. As you can see he's clearly the best 50m fly swimmer in the world," Le Clos said.

"No-one likes to see that, but whether he's there or not, I'm going to swim to win."

There is a fair bit of kurfuffle as the three teams pack up and move between each piece of apparatus on each rotation.

Kit bags being hauled, medical staff and general team entourage hoovering up after the competitiors so they can keep their mind on the important things.

Fortunately the tannoy man has it covered. A dance cam roams around the stands and picks out a middle-aged Harold Bishop-type who produces an unexpectedly competent robot dance.

Then a 'ding-ding' seconds-out sound and we are ready to go on the fifth of six rotations.

Austin borrows kit for medal presentationpublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 5 April 2018

    Triathlon

Scotland's Marc Austin said he didn't want to be to appear too overconfident so he didn't bother taking his podium tracksuit to the triathlon in the off chance he won a medal.

He won a surprise bronze to become Scotland's first medallist of the Games and had to borrow Beth Potter's kit for the presentation - which was a tad too small.

The 24-year-old told BBC Sport Scotland: "I didn’t want to be too presumptuous so I thought I will just cross that bridge when I come to it.

"I was just focused on getting to the start line in good shape and after that I really didn’t care so I wasn’t bothered at all if I looked a bit stupid on the podium.”

Potter, who is 18cms smaller than Austin added: “His podium kit was half way up his sleeve and half way up his ankles!"

In case you missed it, the Brownlee brothers missed out on medals earlier, Jonny coming seventh and two-time Olympic champion Alistair coming 10th. South Africa's Henri Schoeman took gold.

Alistair won the Ironman 70.3 event in Dubai in February but then had to pull out of last month's World Triathlon Series event in Abu Dhabi with a calf problem. Schoeman won that while Jonny was seventh. Spooky.
