On the Games: "This is probably the best one for me at the minute and i'm looking to change this bronze - its been a good tournament and I just want to make it a perfect one by winning gold.

"I have good support from family and friends and of course my brothers have given me some good advice and helped me get through each fight which is everything I need."

Can Halford hold on for a medal?published at 07:58 British Summer Time 12 April 2018

    Individual all-around final

Laura Halford may have won a medal for Wales in the rhythmic gymnastics, but she'll have to wait for the remaining gymnasts to compete. Under real pressure, she lays down a solid performance with the ribbon, the final apparatus.

But she seems slightly disappointed with her score. She has been ruled out of winning gold, as she's behind Canada's Katherine Uchida, but a medal remains possible.

Halford's total score is 50.650, which is more than the 49.600 she posted in qualifying yesterday to place fourth.

She'll be watching closely when Australia's Enid Sung - who finished round three just below Halford in fourth - performs shortly. You can see it live here.

With three of the four rounds of apparatus now complete in this final, Wales' Laura Halford is up to third. It's close at the top!

Meanwhile, it could be a case of 'what might have been' this year for talented 15-year-old England gymnast Hannah Martin, who shows real potential with her performance with the clubs, but a slight mistake at the very end of her routine costs her, and she's down in ninth.

Sadly for Wales' Gemma Frizelle, she accidentally flings her clubs off the floor and has to retrieve them, but she recovered brilliantly to hold her routine together from there and is 12th, with England's Stephani Sherlock 14th.

It's been a scrappy game so far, which seems to have suited the Welsh more and they have built a healthy 16-goal lead at the first break.
