    • England won their first ever Commonwealth medals in women's mountain biking as Annie Last took gold ahead of team-mate Evie Richards.
    • Scotland's Seonaid McIntosh won Commonwealth Games bronze in the women's 50m rifle prone event.
    • England's Katarina Johnson-Thompson leads the heptathlon after the first two events of competition.
    • Also in athletics, England's Tiffany Porter and Alicia Barrett qualified for the 100m hurdles final.
    • England's Alexandra Bell ran a personal best to reach the women's 800m final but Scotland's 2014 silver medallist Lynsey Sharp missed out.
    • Scotland reached the final of the women's triples in the bowls.

    The calves of England's Chris Gregory and Jake Sheaf must be burning now. They've spent most of this match throwing themselves down to the sand to try and knock the ball up before hits the ground. The New Zealand brothers' shirts are drenched in sweat but they look the team in better physically. England's Sheaf has an ice towel around his neck at the change of ends and Gregory has plenty of sweat is seeping below his backwards baseball cap.

    16-7 now New Zealand are closing in on bronze.

    With two rounds of apparatus completed in the all-around final, England's Hannah Martin remains in the mix for a medal, after a score of 12.000 for her ball routine, but is now down in sixth.

    However, Wales' Laura Halford - the bronze medalist in this event four years ago - moves up to fourth place and is right in contention again.

    Gemma Frizelle of Wales and Stephani Sherlock of England are down in 12th and 13th place respectively.
