Netball: New Zealand 57-16 Northern Ireland

Well, Northern Ireland scored five goals to New Zealand's 24 in that third quarter.

This is really tough going against the world champions, who will be delighted that they've managed to continue to pile on the pressure and bag some game time for the whole squad.

For Northern Ireland, they'll be thankful for a breather tomorrow.

No Adam Peaty in this one - he specialises in the 100m - but teammates Greg Butler and James Wilby go for England, while Scot Ross Murdoch won this title on home soil back in 2014 and will be in the running.

Olympic champ and world record holder Zac Stubblety-Cook is the one to beat though. Not only does he possess a superb name, the Australian is also rapid.

Strong start for Englandpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 29 July 2022

    England 6-0 Ghana - men's pool B

England were expected to put plenty past Commonwealth Games debutants Ghana in their opening match - and the hosts did exactly that.

Three goals in each half did the trick for England, who are ranked sixth in the world and the second seeded team in their pool behind India.

The top two teams from each pool of five will reach the semi-finals.

Tougher tests will await for England but a hat-trick from Nick Bandurak, plus further goals from Phil Roper, Will Calnan and David Condon, gave them a great start against Ghana.

Man of the match? Ghana keeper Duisberg Offei. Could have been a rugby sevens score without him.
