The keirin silver medallist leaves it late to come around the outside, but he gets to the paint first and moves on to the quarter-finals.

Men’s team quarter-finals (12:00 BST)
Hosts England topped their group with a 100% record, winning 3-0 in all three matches but how will they fare when their quest for gold continues against Cyprus in just over an hour.
England took gold in 2002 when table tennis made its Commonwealth Games debut in Manchester and have come close to repeating that success, losing in the 2010 and 2014 finals to Singapore.
In Liam Pitchford they have a top 10 doubles player (with Paul Drinkhall) and top 20 singles player. Sam Walker – a bronze medallist in 2018 – and debutant Tom Jarvis offer excellent support.
The defending champions India face Bangladesh.

Back to the men's sprint and it's time for the head-to-heads to begin. The winner of each heat will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Among the line-ups, we've an all-Scottish heat between Jack Carlin and Ali Fielding. Expecting big noise in the velodrome for that one.
Men's Tandem-B sprint qualifying

James Ball of Wales and Neil Fachie of Scotland resume their longstanding rivalry, with the latter taking gold in the 1000m time trial on Friday.
Ball and pilot Matt Rotherham blitz the fastest time by over half a second to finish in 9.851 seconds.
Can Fachie respond? You bet he can!
He and pilot Lewis Stewart post a time of 9.807 seconds to finish fastest.
The semi-finals later will be fascinating. Beau Wooton of Australia, and Alex Pope of Wales are also through.
Men's all-around final
Here's how we stand with two rounds left to go.

England's Lionesses stand on the brink of women's football history as they take on Germany in the European Championship final on Sunday.
Victory would be both the first major trophy for the England women's team but standing in the way again are Germany, who have won the competition eight times. They beat England 6-2 in the final of Euro 2009, the last time they played each other at the tournament.
The match is expected to be a sellout at Wembley, which has an 87,200 capacity for the Euros, with kick-off at 17:00 BST.
And this a nice touch from the England netball side.

With five riders down, Wales' Alex Pope and his pilot Steffan Lloyd are in second place, with England's Stephen Bate and Chris Latham third.
The James Ball v Neil Fachie rivalry is coming up.
Men's all-around final
A slight error on the parallel bars sees Scotland's Pavel Karenjenko slip down to second behind England's Jake Jarman who has a lead of 0.950 points.
England's James Hall is in third with two apparatuses still left to visit.
England's Joe Truman had nowhere to go when Australian Matthew Glaetzer touched wheels with Jack Carlin in the second round of the event.
Glaetzer fell in front of Truman who went straight over the top and hit his head.
The 24-year-old initially lay motionless on the infield of the velodrome as medical staff rushed to his aid, and was then helped away in a wheelchair receiving oxygen.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Next on the track it's qualifying in the men's tandem B sprint. This event is for visually impaired riders, who compete with a sighted pilot.
Scotland's Neil Fachie and pilot Lewis Stewart won gold in the tandem 1,000m time trial on Friday, and another gold will mark his sixth and make him the most successful Scottish athlete at the Commonwealth Games.
He once again faces tough competition from Wales' James Ball and his pilot Matt Rotherham, who won silver on Friday. England's Stephen Bate (pilot: Chris Latham) and Wales' Alex Pope (pilot: Steffan Lloyd) are also competing in this event.
The top four riders from qualifying will progress to the semi-finals.
Men's sprint qualifying
Plenty of cyclists from the home nations make it through to the next round of the sprint.
Hayden Norris of England is the only one to miss the cut.

There's a deafening roar, and then groan as Jack Carlin goes second fastest by one thousandth of a second!
Regardless, he'll be in the next round and aiming to go one better than he did in finishing with silver in the keirin yesterday.
The man who beat him to gold, Nicholas Paul, of Trinidad and Tobago, has just broken the Commonwealth Games record to lead with a time of 9.445 seconds.

Good to see Matt Glaetzer of Australia back on the boards. If you were watching yesterday, you'll know that he was involved in the horror crash that saw England's Joe Truman knocked unconscious and taken off to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone.
Well, Glaetzer's not showing any after-effects. He sets the fastest time so far of 9.652 seconds with four riders left.
If we get any updates on Truman's condition today, we'll let you know.
