Hague & Coppell bidding for medals in pole vault finalpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's pole vault final

There's just been an absolutely massive roar inside the stadium...

And I'll tell you why - England's Adam Hague has just cleared a season's best height of 5.55m to move himself into first place!

He's already guaranteed a bronze, but can he go that bit further?

Compatriot Harry Coppell is second, with Australia's Kurtis Marschall third.

I am happy to see Jereem Richards win, but also happy to see Zharnel Hughes get that monkey off his back.

    Men's super-heavyweight semi-finals

Nigeria's Ifeanyi Onyekwere may have the height and the power advantage, but India's Sagar Sagar has boxed very clever here.

Sagar leads the scorecards in both first two rounds and takes the sting out of the contest in the final round.

He's through to the gold medal bout with a unanimous decision! But who will join him?

    Australia 2-2 England

    Becky Grey
BBC Sport at University of Birmingham

Australia have been all over England in this third quarter and that is the result.

Jacob Anderson whips his stick round and it's too fast for England keeper Ollie Payne, flying into the bottom-right corner.

Will it be a shootout decider like it was for England's women last night? Still another 15 to go.

Zharnel Hughes has a massive smile on his face as he wraps himself in the flag, before sitting down on the track and raising his head, saying a small thanks up to the sky.

He really could not have done much more.

That is fabulous sprinting. Jereem Richards ran under 20 seconds at the World Championships but that is better. A massive performance.

    Men's 200m final

A season's best and a silver medal for Zharnel Hughes!

Hughes looks delighted, as he well should. He's across the line in 20.12 to take the silver.

Joseph Paul Amoah of Ghana takes home the bronze.

A simply stunning Games record and Jereem Richards retains his title!

Oh, and a personal best to boot.

19.80seconds. He was neck-and-neck with Hughes before he just found that magnificent extra gear to get over the line.

    Men's 200m final

    Michael Johnson
Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

He is running well but the thing about Zharnel Hughes, unfortunately, is that when he gets into finals he tends to falter. We know that he has talent and potential but he tends to make mistakes - running out of his lane, false starts. So he tends to make mistakes and that is a problem, Hopefully, he can clean that up.

Hughes bidding for gold once againpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's 200m final

Can Zharnel Hughes put the heartbreak of 2018 behind him?

Four years ago, Hughes thought he had claimed 200m gold, only to be disqualified during his victory lap for obstructing Jereem Richards with his arm.

His best time in the distance of 20.02secs was set back in 2015, and he has only once managed to dip below it in the seven years since.

He will face off against Jamaica's defending champion Richards and former winne Rasheed Dwyer as he bids to become the first English man since 2010 to win gold in the discipline.

They bounced back well, though, to take the second game 11-5.

The winners will play Scotland's world silver medallists Rory Stewart and Greg Lobban in the semi-finals on Sunday.

'I'm really lucky to make the podium' - Laugherpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 6 August 2022

    Men's 3m springboard final

    BBC Sport

It has been a roller-coaster for former champion Jack Laugher, who comes away with a bronze today - and here is what he had to say:

On his preparation between the prelims and the final:

"I didn't end up (face-timing his dad) regrettably. I ended up going for a sleep and trying reset my day. I thought if I spoke to my dad it would be quite emotional because he's always loved me and supported me but he's an emotional guy and that's great for me to have in my life but maybe not the right time for that right now.

"I just reset my day, came back with a more positive attitude and one trying to show off my skills and I think I did that today. One mistake that cost me my position but overall, in comparison to this morning, a great performance all round."

    On his performance overall:

"I think if you're going to lose out on a gold medal or a silver medal then who better to lose it out on than two of your really good friends, close companions, training partner and also Team England as well.

"I'm really happy with my performance. This morning was obviously terrible but managing to turn it around feels really good. I'd just like to thank everybody, my friends and family, the National Lottery and took a little bit of inspiration from Leeds United fighting back from a bad start to finally get on top! It's been a great day and I'm really proud of what what we've achieved today."

Semi-finals: Australia beat New Zealand to reach gold medal match

Genuinely, Australia women might never lose a cricket match again.

India came so close in the opening game of the tournament, admittedly, but this is a side that just does not know how to lose.

It is unbelievable - and, let's be honest, quite annoying.
