Not too sure the likes of House of Pain and Kanye West are going to be boomed out of the speakers at Victoria Park for the women's triples final, but you never know, might be good motivation.

Up and running now and England are 3-0 up on Malaysia after the first end.

    Individual all-around final

We're three rounds down at the Arena Birmingham and England's Marfa Ekimova is still going strong in the rhythmic gymnastics - she tops the table after the hoop, ball and clubs with 85.200, having scored 28.350 in the clubs. Australia's Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva, who is second, is 0.700 points behind.

Scotland's Louise Christie is in eighth with Wales' Elizabeth Popova and Gemma Frizelle are 11th and 12th with England's Alice Leaper in 10th.

Last up is the ribbon. Can Ekimova hold onto that slim lead? It's going to be tight.

    Women's quarter-final

Vanuatu have done it! It may have been a straight-sets victory but what a match this has been at Smithfield.

Final score in the second set was 30-28. Miller Pata and Sherysyn Toko faced 19 set points but the 'super mums' grabbed the advantage with both hands when it arrived and have booked their place in women's semi-finals on Saturday.

Fantastic play, however, from the Cyprus duo of Manolina Konstantinou and Zoe Konstantopoulou.

Meanwhile England's other pair Charlotte Bardsley and Tom Jarvis have just lost 3-0 in their last eight match to Australia duo Nicholas Lum and Minhyung Jee.

England’s four are in fine form as they head into their semi-final against India (16:30 BST).

Jamie Chestney, Louis Ridout and Nick Brett won triples gold earlier in the week and they are joined by Sam Tolchard, who claimed silver in the pairs.

They won all three of their group matches and made it past Malaysia 16-10 in the quarter-finals earlier today.

    This match is ridiculous!

Vanuatu and Cyprus are well-matched in every department and just as one pair managed to grab set point, the other side is able to draw back level.

We're now on set point number 10 with the score tied at 27-27.

Who doesn’t love a conga? The beach volleyball dancers are entertaining the crowd in between sets and given the amount of fun the crowd seem to be having, I wouldn’t put it past them to start their own soon.

What a brilliant atmosphere and it’s lovely and warm too when the sun’s out.

    Is this the moment?

Northern Ireland's men's fours came from behind to get past Scotland in the quarter-finals, in doing so advanced to the last four with a chance to create quite a significant piece of history.

If they beat Wales they'll secure Team NI's 16th medal of Birmingham Games, making the class of '22 the most successful ever.

Of course even if they lose, they'll still have a chance to claim bronze tomorrow so all will not be lost.

But they're here now, so they might as well make it at least a silver.

Scottish champion Kieran Malone walks out to Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine being pumped out inside the Coventry Stadium and Arena complex.

Malone, a late addition to the Scotland squad, has gone from watching the Commonwealth Games to competing in it.

"It's been a lifelong goal of mine to compete for Scotland at the Games, since I went to watch the Manchester Games in 2002 as a kid," he says.

Unfortunately Malone is unable to get the better of his opponent as Australia's Jayden Lawrence goes through.

Lawrence will face South Africa's Edward Lessing in the bronze medal match later.

    Men's decathlon

It was once again a brilliant atmosphere at Alexander Stadium for the early athletics session on day eight.

BBC commentator Rob Walker said he had never heard noise like it for a decathlon pole vault clearance, as England's Harry Kendall recorded a personal best to the delight of the home crowd.

The event will continue from 19:00 BST this evening, with the javelin and 1500m to come, and it's not one to be missed.

Australia's Cedric Dubler has just a 39-point lead over Grenada's defending champion Lindon Victor and it could all come down to a dramatic final race.

Sensational play by Konstantinou and Konstantopoulou to keep the ball moving under pressure and eventually nick a point from the tightest of angles.

Cyprus and Vanuatu trade a few more blows and the second set is at 9-7 in favour of the Cypriot duo.

    FT: Wales 56-62 Malawi

All over in the netball and after taking that early lead Wales couldn't hold on against Malawi.

It's promising stuff from Wales though, who recently moved up in the world rankings to eighth, just below Malawi in seventh. They have shown that they can compete at that level and head coach Sara Moore will be pleased with what she's seen from her side this tournament.

Wales finish the competition in eighth overall with Malawi seventh.

South Africa will play Uganda in the fifth place play-off in the final match of the day.

Para mixed pairs B2/B3 gold medal match

    BBC Sport

Team-member Robert Barr said: "To win six out of six - you are always thinking that the wheels might come off the bogey so that was added pressure and we had already won two gold medals. That set the standard so absolutely delighted.

On being beaten by Wales in the previous Commonwealth Games, he added: "It's been a long four and a half years so absolutely delighted to get that."

And Sarah Jane Ewing said: "It was absolutely great to have everybody here. It was like a home games for us. Every bowl was getting cheered on from the crowd. The Gold Coast was difficult with the finish that we had and we had limited family and friends over there so it was absolutely brilliant to perform in front of them.

"(The team) are absolutely great, they've played really hard, I'm really proud of them and I think that everything fell into place at all the right moments."

What an incredible result. Eight set points Cyprus had on their serve, but then when Vanuatu got the chance on their own serve it took them just two tries.
