A massive roar goes up among the Scotland contingent in the stands as they sneak another two to eke out an 11-6 lead.

Robert Barr and Melanie Inness are getting plenty of vocal support.

Elsewhere, Alex Marshall's Scotland fours team have re-taken the lead against Northern Ireland. They're 12-11 up after 10 ends.

He had the excitable crowd clapping for his run up, but he pulls out of his third attempt at 4.50m at the last minute. He's given them plenty to enjoy today!

Scotland have just stretched their lead to three again and are currently holding a 9-6 advantage over Wales after 10 ends.

Excellent work from 75-year-old Gordon Llewellyn (pictured on the right) as he claws back some of the deficit by taking two in the ninth end, although Scotland lead 8-6 and are still on course for the gold medal.

Wales women finish in eighth place in the Commonwealth Games hockey after losing 1-0 to South Africa in their seventh-place match.

Lilian du Plessis' goal in the third quarter is the difference between the two sides.

It means Wales equal their joint-best finish at the Games having also finished eighth in 2010.

They also better their ninth-placed finishes in 2014 and 2018.

English sixth seed Toby Penty beats Scotland’s Callum Smith in straight games on the show court in the men's last 16.

Penty advances to the last eight thanks to a 25-23, 21-12 win.

Elsewhere, Singapore's Jia Min Yeo has just beaten England's Freya Redfearn 2-0 in the women's singles last 16.

The crowd continue to get right behind England's Harry Kendall during this pole vault, and so far he is rising to the occasion.

He's produced a season-best vault of 4.30m on his third attempt to stay in the competition.

Lindon Victor, Cedric Dubler and Daniel Golubovic, the top three after seven events, are yet to join in.

No matches have taken place inside the Coventry Arena since 11:05 BST with spectators told at 11:09 there would be a pause for a "safety check".

Competition was initially set to restart at 12:45 but was then delayed further.

Fans have now returned to their seats.

There’s an all-British match between English sixth seed Toby Penty and Scotland’s Callum Smith on the show court in the men's last 16.

Penty has just taken a tight first game 25-23 and leads in the second 15-9.

Scotland, who had been 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3 behind, got ahead in end seven and then followed that up by scoring three in the eighth end to jump into an 8-4 lead against Wales.
