Alex Albon has indeed retired from the race.

It is unusual to see both drivers of a team having their front wing changed. So Albon and Sainz have damage and now Albon again. They'll be running out of front wings down there.

  5. Postpublished at Lap 29/66

Alex Albon serves that penalty but is back in the pits again and could well be retiring.

    A race to forget.

  6. Postpublished at Lap 28/66

More woe for Alex Albon as he is given a 10-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

  7. Postpublished at Lap 27/66

Max Verstappen continues to lead but he's on softs that are 14-laps old now. He leads Oscar Piastri by five seconds but it will be interesting to see how long this stint goes on for for Verstappen.

  8. Postpublished at Lap 26/66

Poor Alex Albon has front wing damage for the second time in this race after that coming together with Liam Lawson.

Red Bull and Max Verstappen know that they can't necessarily win this race from outright pace, so they're coming to mix up the strategy compared to the two McLarens.

  10. Team radio - Albonpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 1 June

    "Liam just pushed me off."

It's worth noting Verstappen is on the soft tyres, Piastri and Norris both on the medium tyres. So there is a massive difference of what they are doing out there strategically.

  12. Postpublished at Lap 25/66

Max Verstappen is on softs and we've seen they don't have much life in them. Everyone behind him down to seventh are on mediums.

Max Verstappen is on an older set of tyres compared to Oscar Piastri who will feed out in second, about five seconds back from Verstappen.

  14. Postpublished at Lap 24/66

Oscar Piastri can't get back out ahead of Max Verstappen so now the world champion leads after the first round of pit stops.

The McLarens are on the fresher rubber, however.

  15. Postpublished at Lap 23/66

Now Oscar Piastri pits from the lead...

Lewis Hamilton is questioning that because he now has to do a longer stint than his team-mate [Charles Leclerc] on this set of tyres.

We're seeing some teams doing different things to the others [on the pit stops], some teams opting to stop from a soft and continue on another new set of soft tyres.

Whereas other drivers stopped from the soft and have gone on to a new set of mediums.

Lando Norris isn't going to 25 laps, though, as he pits and comes back out in third, behind Max Verstappen.

  18. Team radio - McLaren to Piastripublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 1 June

Engineer: "How far do you think we can get? Lap 25 possible?"

    Piastri: "Possible, but difficult."

  19. Postpublished at Lap 22/66

In goes George Russell now and he is back out in seventh, one place behind Lewis Hamilton.

You'd have to think protecting the undercut is from Mercedes and their duo of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.
