    As temperatures have risen it puts some people out of play and I think Aston Martin might be those victims as well.

    If you think how well they start a season, they just fall away and it’s painful for the team at the moment.

    Carlos Sainz topped Q1 with a time of 1:05.263 followed by Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.

    The other Red Bull of Sergio Perez was down in 12th place, with George Russell finishing one spot higher in 11th.

    Is this another knockout for Aston Martin? Both drivers are in the relegation zone and are in big trouble of heading out the door. Stroll can only make P17 but Spaniard Alonso just about makes it to safety in 15th spot.

    A real sign of intent from Russell and bit more like what we thought we would see from Mercedes this weekend.

    They have been developing that car over the last couple of rounds, they really unlocked some performance and a new direction they can develop in and we’re starting to see the fruits of that now.

    Nico Hulkenberg, carrying a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points after the sprint, is down in the danger zone along with Haas team-mate Kevin Magnussen.

    The Dane is able to pull himself to safety, which pushes Pierre Gasly into trouble.
