Sri Lanka suddenly have two new batsmen at the crease just as New Zealand were looking to cash in. What a momentum-shifter. The new batsmen are Grant Elliott and Corey Anderson.

"Now that *was* a good leg break which went past the outside edge. The foot is not down behind the line. But Sangakkara doesn't take it cleanly - they're checking to see if the left glove broke the wicket before the right glove, which had the ball in, broke the wicket - and it's out."
New Zealand's innings is coming off the rails here. They lose a second wicket in two balls when Mendis's leg break defeats Taylor all ends up and Sangakkara recovers from a momentary fumble to whip off the bails.

"Karunaratne has managed to time his run so he can get two hands to it, diving to his right. A wonderful piece of outfielding."

"Mendis has got his wicket from a rank full toss. Brilliant catch from Karunaratne, and Williamson is on his way. Mendis celebrated it as if he'd bowled a perfect leg break which pitched on leg and hit the top of off."
Ladies and gentlemen, we have an early contender for catch of the tournament. Williamson, who was just starting to get his groove on, clips a full toss from Mendis out to cow corner, but he doesn't quite get the elevation he was looking for and Dimuth Karunaratne, running round, takes an absolute screamer diving headlong. What a wicket for Sri Lanka.
Oh, Kane. This is an absolute peach of a shot - using his feet to Dilshan and timing the pants off a chip to the cow-corner boundary. Nine off the over, the runs starting to flow again.

"Sri Lanka are trying to find a bowler who can choke New Zealand and keep them under control."
New Zealand 183-2 (32 overs) - Sri Lanka won toss
Batsmen: Williamson 50*, Taylor 12*
Fall of wickets: 1-111 (McCullum 65), 2-136 (Guptill 49)
Bowling figures: Kulasekara 5-0-41-0, Malinga 4-0-42-2, Mathews 6-0-28-0, Herath 8-0-36-1, Dilshan 2-0-10-0, Lakmal 6-0-20-1, Mendis 1-0-4-0
Is Kane Williamson starting to motor here? He eyes up Kulasekara - first shuffling across and shovelling him over cow corner, before lofting him for six over long-off - where a gentleman in the crowd takes an absolutely blinding one-handed catch. Hats off sir. The batsman brings up his 50 - his 13th in the last 17 games - with a whip through midwicket.

"You start to panic a little when you're not scoring as freely as you should be. You start to look around for gaps, and the danger comes when you lock off on one particular area to attack - that's what Williamson did a couple of overs ago when he had his heave."
Williamson and Taylor have had their issues with running between the wickets, and there is momentary alarm as they appear to get their wires crossed after Williamson flicks a single off his pads. No harm done though, four from Dilshan's over.
Kane Williamson cracks a smile beneath the grille of his helmet as he finds a much-needed boundary. Mathews drops too short and the batsman swivels on it quickly to crash a pull to the cow-corner fence. Eight from the over - that's a tonic for the hosts.

Nuwan Kulasekara returns to the attack. New Zealand nurdle four singles, before Williamson offers a very tough chance to Angelo Mathews at cover - but the skipper can't clutch his full-blooded drive one-handed above his head. Would have been a stunner.

"Sri Lanka will always back themselves to get 270. Where you would take it away from them would be to score 340-350, and I can't see New Zealand getting that far at the moment."
It's been 15 minutes since New Zealand last found the boundary, and the pressure is just starting to tell. Kane Williamson tries to advance down the crease to belt Mathews, but his wild heave doesn't connect. The run rate is down below 5.5 now.

New Zealand are finding Suranga Lakmal harder to get away than a pesky mosquito. They muster just two singles off another good over.
