Leaders Kent are playing Australia in a tour game, so either Hampshire or Essex, who meet each other at Chelmsford, will join them on 12 points.
Sussex are firmly in the picture on nine points after last Sunday's 10-wicket thrashing of Glamorgan, but must find a way to curb one of the competition's form batsmen, Michael Klinger, who has three centuries to his credit, as they face Gloucestershire in Bristol.
Surrey are propping up the table after only a single win so far and they are going to need something special if they are to claim one of the top-four places when the group stage ends on 24 July.
So how are the two tables shaping up?
Worcestershire Rapids remain on top of of North Group with 10 points, but are only above Birmingham Bears by virtue of a superior run-rate.
Leicestershire are only one point adrift, with Lancashire and Durham both on eight points after the Red Rose county beat the Jets by six wickets at Old Trafford on Thursday evening, thanks to an unbeaten 63 by Ashwell Prince, a player who appeared in just a single T20 international for South Africa.
Derbyshire are at the wrong end of the table with four points, having won only one of their five games so far in June. They now face East Midlands rivals Notts, and all 10 of their previous meetings at Derby have been won by the side batting second.

Following their heroics against New Zealand, several members of England's limited-overs squad return to domestic action this evening.
Skipper Eoin Morgan will be in the Middlesex team against Somerset, opener Alex Hales plays for Notts at Derby and all-rounder David Willey boosts the Northants Steelbacks line-up in their game against Worcestershire at New Road.
Elsewhere, Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid are in the Yorkshire squad to meet Leicestershire and Jason Roy is set to play for Surrey against Glamorgan.
It's been a difficult week for Yorkshire's Aaron Finch. After making 30 off 32 balls - snail's pace in T20 terms - in last Sunday's defeat at Edgbaston by Birmingham Bears, he was left out of Yorkshire's Championship team and then struck in the ribs by Worcestershire's Chris Russell during a second XI game.
After reportedly coughing up blood, the Australian underwent two x-rays, but no fracture was uncovered, and he has been passed fit for duty as Yorkshire, currently seventh in North Group, with only three wins so far, prepare to cross swords with Leicestershire at Grace Road.
Finch has only contributed 41 runs to the Vikings' cause in three appearances so far, but will tonight be the night when he produces the kind of fireworks that saw him hammer 156 off 63 balls against England at the Ageas Bowl two summers ago.
The likes of Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi may be history - for the time being - but the T20 Blast continues to attract big-name, big-hitting overseas stars to give spectators an extra bang for their buck.
Tonight, freed from international duty with New Zealand, Brendon McCullum and Luke Ronchi join the party for the latest Friday night frenzy, or Thriday night thrash (whichever you prefer).
Last year's winners, Birmingham Bears, have done well so far in North Group, but McCullum, a batsman with over 6,000 T20 runs and six T20 centuries behind him, and a strike rate of over 135, will add further invention and panache to their batting line-up.
And although Ronchi cannot match the Kiwi captain's runs tally, and has a best score in the game's shortest format of 76, his strike-rate is even higher at 140, which should be good news for Somerset, who need to start winning games if they are to progress from South Group.
'Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more' - the words of Shakespeare's Henry V. It is, perhaps, unlikely that the Bard will be quoted in any pre-match pep talks this evening, but with the battle for places in the knockout stage of the T20 Blast hotting up, it is certainly time for players to 'stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood', or, in the words of another literary giant called William, Mr Billy Ocean, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going'.
