  1. Aus 87-1published at 20 overs

Once more, the short ball is England's undoing as Grundy is powerfully pulled for four by captain Lanning, who then comes down the track and lofts the spinner over her head for four more.

  3. Aus 76-1 (Bolton 30*, Lanning 4*)published at 19 overs

Cross begins her fifth over, Bolton is proceeding in singles at the moment and Lanning is finally off the mark with a well-timed flick off her legs for four - Katherine Brunt's run and dive towards the mid-wicket boundary can't cut it off.

Plenty of cricket on the BBC today. As well as this match on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra, you can listen to Australia's tour match at Derbyshire  this morning, or any of this evening's T20 Blast games - all of those via the BBC Sport website.

  5. Aus 71-1 (Grundy 4-0-17-1)published at 18 overs

Bolton starts with a single again. Grundy has a slip in for Lanning, and the Southern Stars skipper plays out the rest of the over - she's yet to score from eight deliveries.

  7. Aus 70-1 (Bolton 28*, Lanning 0*)published at 17 overs

Bolton adds a single, then Cross fires one down the leg side of right-hander Lanning which keeper Taylor can't reach and they run one. With the left-handed Bolton on strike, Cross then sends another wide down the left-hander's leg side. Radar a bit off at this stage.

Big hugs from her team-mates for Grundy as Australia captain Meg Lanning comes in - with her side in a much better position than they were this time on Tuesday.

She went to cut, it went quicker than she expected and it's a good take by Sarah Taylor. England needed that wicket.

    Villani c Taylor b Grundy 35 (Aus 65-1)

Finally England have the breakthrough - and just one delivery after heaving a full toss through mid-wicket for four, Villani attempts another big hit and gets a bottom edge to wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor.

  12. Aus 61-0published at 15 overs

Villani adds a single, Bolton comes down the track to Cross but whacks the ball straight back to the bowler. Cross makes as if to throw down the stumps, and the sprawling Bolton has to dive back into her crease.

  13. Aussies in actionpublished at 11:31

Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, who missed the second Test at Lord's for personal reasons, is included in Australia's team for their tour match against Derbyshire today. Peter Nevill, however, retains the gloves. Batting first, the Aussies are 24-0. Follow it here.

  14. Aus 60-0 (Villani 30*, Bolton 26*)published at 14 overs

Grundy comes over the wicket, Ashley Giles-style, to the left-handed Bolton, but hasn't quite found her rhythm yet - Bolton (who, as we mentioned, averages 53 from her 10 ODIs before today) fluently sweeps her for four. Having taken all that time to get off the mark, Bolton is slowly but surely catching her opening partner up - but Villani has now levelled her highest ODI score (although she does have five T20 fifties under her belt).

That was the shot of the day from Villani. She spotted the change of length from Cross straight away and was quick to get into position.

  16. Aus 52-0published at 13 overs

The short ball isn't really working for England today - it didn't work with Brunt, Grundy's only short ball was despatched for four and now a short one from Cross is effortlessly pulled for four by Villani. Bolton on-drives, it's captain Edwards giving chase and a last-minute dive stops the ball just in front of the long-on boundary, turning four into three. That's the fifty partnership.

There are plenty of people watching on their balconies from the flats directly opposite the media centre that overlooks the County Ground. They have perhaps the best view of the entire watching public.

  18. Aus 44-0 (Villani 24*, Bolton 16*)published at 12 overs

Left-arm spinner Rebecca Grundy into the attack, skipper Charlotte Edwards carefully sets the field - there are eight fielders in the circle for the left-handed Bolton (four on each side), only a deep backward square leg patrolling the boundary. But there's a long chase for that fielder as Bolton chips a shorter ball over the inner ring and away for four through cow corner. But that's the only scoring shot. And the outfield is most certainly slower than Taunton.

England have got quite an attacking field here for Grundy.

Kathryn replaces Katherine and Lancashire replaces Yorkshire as Kate Cross takes over from fellow right-arm seamer Katherine Brunt. Villani and Bolton exchange singles to stretch their opening stand to 40.
