Middlesex and England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageKind of saw that coming. You felt Rory Burns was trying a little too hard to rotate the strike. He did not need to play that shot, I cannot quite seeing thinking of doing that but it was a good catch in the deep.

Middlesex and England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageIt is very difficult coming into this situation in the middle overs and to keep on rotating the strike, with Sangakkara batting so well, but Rory Burns has played very well.

Middlesex and England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageWhat a man, Sangakkara is a consummate professional. He retired during the second Test against India and was on a plane the next day to come back to Surrey.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageIt was a brilliant ball, Foakes was maybe trying to work it too square. This could change the dynamic of the game, it was becoming too easy for Surrey to get singles. Nottinghamshire needed that breakthrough.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageIt is a clear day, the covers have been off for a significant amount of time which makes you feel that this started as a good wicket and it will probably stay that way all the match along. I think we will see a pretty consistent wicket throughout.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match SpecialQuote MessageThat was pressure. Brilliant from Harry Gurney he has been hitting that line and length and that wicket ball just had a bit of shape. It has been a great opening partnership from Stuart Broad and Gurney.
