  1. Pak 49-1 (Azhar 29, Hafeez 4)published at 7 overs

Mohammad Hafeez is into his work straight away, on the pads from Willey and he clips it to the fine-leg boundary. Willey gets away with another poor ball, a wide half-volley that Hafeez can only toe-end to cover.

"That was much-needed for England. I like that they took their time, Morgan and Willey had a little chat. Moeen didn't pick it up quickly, but once he did he set himself and took a comfortable catch."

David Willey has taken a few early wickets in this series and again he makes the breakthrough. Shehzad, who had been getting a bit itchy under the collar with his partner motoring along and 356 needed, tries to free the shackles with a pull shot but succeeds only in picking out the safe mitts of Moeen in the deep. Advantage England.

  5. Pak 43-0 (target 356)published at 6 overs

Chris Woakes has had a good series, with four wickets in each of the last two games, and he's rewarded with an early bowl here. But Azhar Ali takes a liking to the smidgeon of pace on the white ball - he uses it to smear a huge six over midwicket, then steer a four through point. Azhar looks in princely touch, England will want to see the back of him...

  6. Pak 33-0published at 5.2 overs

He's fine. Just got his bat down in time.

Pakistan had three calamitous run-outs in the last match - is this another? Jos Buttler with a flying Superman dive, Azhar the worried man...

Only Buttler, of any England player including KP & Morgan, can play that innings. Truly unique. So do we really want him in the nets for the next month working on how you bat at 70-5 in a Test Match? I’m not convinced he should. I would put Jack Russell higher in the list of people I would send out to bat for my life in a test match but no-one higher at 194-2 in an ODI.

Shehzad gets one through the covers this time, and gets three for it. Good start for Pakistan.

Down! Would have been a stunner from James Taylor, hit hard and flat to cover by Shehzad, bursts through Taylor's hands. Not sure he picked that up, to be fair.

  13. Pak 27-0 (Azhar 17, Shehzad 7)published at 4 overs

Azhar Ali is baring his teeth here. After five balls of a pretty quiet Topley over, he picks a length ball and blasts it over the covers for four. Pakistan are by no means out of this - this is a good track, with the ball coming on nicely under lights...

"Pakistan have to score, but they can't afford to lose momentum with wickets. They are trying to build a platform here."

  15. Pak 20-0 (target 356)published at 3 overs

Pakistan haven't really put this young duo of opening bowlers under pressure in this series - now would be a good time to start. They can't get too much change out of this Willey over though, thanks to a superb sprawling stop by Taylor in the covers. Buttler is wearing a thousand-megawatt grin behind the stumps, as he should.

  17. Pak 16-0published at 2 overs

Pakistan have to look to score from the off - they can't hang about and get their eye in. Azhar can get bogged down, but he starts well against Reece Topley - getting his first boundary with a lovely clip off his toes and then steering a lovely drive through the covers for four.

  19. Pak 5-0 (Azhar 1, Shehzad 4)published at 1 over

Willey spoils a very good over with a poor final ball which is glanced fine for four by the recalled Shehzad.
