  1. SA 173-4published at 16 overs

I might have been a tad unfair to David Willey, because this over has been very good. In fact, it looks like he should have had new man David Miller trapped leg before, only for a huge shout to be turned down. If the umpire thinks Miller has hit it, he's wrong.

"Jason Roy keeping his nerve in the middle of the mayhem. He held on just below knee-high. England are four and half overs away from home, when they can go and have a rest(!)"

    Du Plessis c Roy b Willey 17 (SA 169-3)

Morgan's radical thinking pays off for Willey, who removes Faf du Plessis, despite serving up a leg-stump full toss. The South African skipper picks out deep mid-wicket Jason Roy, who has been faultless in this match so far...

Chippi: England have not only the worst bowling attack in the tournament but also one of the weakest fielding sides as well.

Peterfeet: So can't bowl, field or catch. Apart from that England are quite good.

David Willey back into the attack, talking to skipper Morgan.

"Right Dave, you see those wooden things at the other end, bowl at those."

"Thanks, skipper, no one told me that before."

"Eoin Morgan has got plenty of overs left, but he doesn't have any bowlers he can really trust at the moment. Not that he'd tell us that."

  7. SA 166-3published at 15 overs

Are we now into the death overs? Surely the life has already been clobbered from the men in pink?

"Stokes is furious with himself, banging his thigh. He's had to bowl at some difficult times in both games, and it hasn't worked."

Wanted. Set of wheels, last seen falling off the England cricket team. Also missing the axles, steering wheel, seatbelts and Reece Topley.

It's hard to put into words how shambolic this has been. Now Jos Buttler is scrambling around on his knees, letting the through two byes, before Stokes serves Duminy a leg-stump full toss. With fine leg up in the ring. You know the rest.

"England have to try and win this game. You can completely muck up your net run-rate if you lose by an enormous margin, but chasing 220 or 230 there's still some hope of a miracle."

They're taking the mick now. Ben Stokes back, Du Plessis ramping over his head for four. South Africa could probably bat with snooker cues at the moment.

  13. SA 152-3 (Duminy 16 from 9)published at 14 overs

Throwing the ball to Joe Root seems like Morgan's only option. Problem is, who after this? Alex Hales bowls some off-breaks. Forget Hales, he's just had a shocker on the long-on boundary, letting the ball past for four. Wonderful reaction from Root, letting off the sort of scream that Edvard Munch would immortalise.

Fair play to Morgan, he still has a slip for Rashid's final over, probably because he knows he'll need men on the roof of the stand when Topley and Jordan come back. Rashid takes his cap with figures of 1-35 from his four overs. In the context of what else has happened, he's looked like Shane Warne in an attack of Jade Dernbachs.

Ashley Paul: Who said this World Cup can't be any worse than the last one for England? They've taken it as a challenge!

Andy Weightman: Tattooed arm? Check. Rubbish at cricket? Check. First plane to India it is then.

  17. SA 134-3published at 12 overs

JP Duminy the new man. Moeen is bowled out, Rashid only has one more. Can Morgan bowl Topley again? Or Jordan? Only is he's into self-punishment.

"Hashim Amla was going for the big heave and missed. No great celebration from England, who know they are still in the mire. Normally, get Amla out and you're cock-a-hoop. But England are going to have a huge target to face. However. Anything is possible..."

Amla lbw Moeen 58 (SA 133-3)

Moeen Ali does for his fellow beard, Hashim Amla adjudged lbw on the sweep. The England spinners have actually done a reasonable job, but it's a sad state of affairs when you're most economical bowlers are going at 10 an over. Wonderful knock by Amla. He's thrown England around like a ragdoll.
