  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.1 overs

    Williams c Evans b Sharif 53 (Zim 128-6)

Williams tries to loft the ball over square leg again from outside off stump, but this time his luck runs out and Ali Evans snares the catch. Williams looked annoyed, he'll have wanted to see the innings through.

  3. Zim 128-5 (Williams 53, Chigumbura 8)published at 17 overs

And Zimbabwe make Scotland pay for that drop as Chigumbura - who hit three sixes in his 30 from 13 balls against Hong Kong - thrashes a big one over long-off. 14 from the over, three to come, and 150 looks on the cards now.

  4. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 16.4 overs

    Zim 122-5

A tough chance - Williams gets an edge which spoons into the air, Safyaan Sharif running back at backward square leg but can't hold on.

  5. Zim 120-5 (Williams 52 from 34 balls)published at 16.2 overs

Uh-oh - Evans bowls one that keeper Matthew Cross misses and it disappears for four byes. Evans then bowls a wide - Scotland can't afford to leak too many extras at this stage - and Williams takes an easy single to deep cover.

"Sean Williams is very business-like. His body language is always positive and when he walks to the wicket he always looks like he will score runs."

  7. 50 runs

50 for Sean Williamspublished at 16 overs

    Zim 114-5

Sean Williams brings up his third T20 international fifty from only 31 balls, helping a short delivery down to fine leg for four. Well batted, sir. A single takes him to 51 from 32 balls, while the PA announcer is yelling in such a frenzied manner between overs, I hope there are medical professionals on standby.

  8. Zim 109-5published at 15.3 overs

Given that 150 has been more-or-less "par" in this tournament so far, I wonder what Zimbabwe are targeting? Williams pushes Davey for a single, Chigumbura is tucked up for room but some good backing up from Williams allows him to scamper through for a leg bye.

  9. Zim 107-5 (Watt 4-0-21-2)published at 15 overs

Former captain Elton Chigumbura is in at seven for Zimbabwe - he has a career strike rate of 149 in T20 internationals, and Williams needs some support now. After a rare dot ball for Williams, he nicks the strike with a single. Watt's finished his spell, both spinners are bowled out - and Scotland now have to bowl five overs of seam.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.3 overs

    Waller c Leask b Watt 13 (Zim 105-5)

Malcolm Waller finally finds the boundary, lofting one over the covers - but when he tries to go big again, he picks out the man at long-off and this time Leask takes the catch cleanly. No juggling required.

  11. Zim 93-4 (Williams 44 from 26 balls)published at 15 overs

Michael Leask (0-24 from three) to complete his spell. Williams reverse-sweeps fiercely for four, briefly endangering umpire Aleem Dar (who's standing at point rather than square leg) who thankfully ducks in time. The over is bookended by another four, this time from an orthodox sweep, and Leask takes his cap with figures of 4-0-36-0.

  13. Zim 87-4 (WIlliams 33, Waller 6)published at 14 overs

Safyaan Sharif, who leaked 11 runs in his first over, returns to the attack - he's got to bowl three of the last seven overs unless Scotland turn to a sixth bowler. More good running from Williams takes him to 33 from 22 balls - he's only faced one dot ball in that time.

Surely as the Wisden editor, Lawrence ought to know the answer to that...

  15. Zim 81-4 (Williams 29 from 19 balls)published at 12 overs

Williams gets down really, really low to superbly sweep Watt for four - while the youngster gets one to really turn and beat Waller's forward prod. Williams steers a well-run two to long-off from the last ball - a risk-free eight off the over.

  17. Zim 73-4published at 11 overs

Right-hander Malcolm Waller is the new batsman, he knocks his first ball for a single. Evans strays with a couple of legside wides, but a lot now depends on Williams, who has 22 from 16 balls, if they're to post a decent total.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.3 overs

    Raza b Evans 9 (Zim 67-4)

Got him! Alasdair Evans bowls one too short which Williams helps to leg for four - but recovers to send down a fuller delivery which flicks Raza's off stump as it goes through and removes the bail.

  20. Zim 62-3 (Williams 16, Raza 9)published at 10 overs

Leask is quickly through his third over, Raza guides a four through third man, and we've reached the halfway point of the innings.

If Scotland can keep the score to manageable proportions, they may never have had a better chance to win a World T20 game.
