As the sun continues to shine over this magnificent location the floodlights have been turned on and England will begin their run chase shortly. To see if they can make it two wins out of two, here is Mr Phil Dawkes.

"On this pitch anything over 100 is good so to get India under that mark is good. If England play to the way they are capable of I think they will comfortably do it. They know it is under a run a ball which means they just have to rotate the strike and not go for big boundaries. It should be easy pickings."

  3. wicket

Kaur run out 26 (Ind 90-8)

Steady final over from Gunn, with a liberal sprinkling of slower balls making timing difficult. Kaur's intrepid innings ends with the final ball as she attempts an impossible two when there was not even one and-a-quarter.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.4 overs

Patil run out 13 (Ind 87-7)

If there was a call from Kaur it did not register with non-striker Patil, who continued to run until she was at the same end as her static partner.

  5. Ind 85-6published at 19 overs

    (Kaur 23)

Kaur tries the ramp/scoop/generally unorthodox, new-fangled shot against Brunt but it comes off the toe of the bat and loops almost straight above her head. No-one knows where it has gone and it loops to safety, landing just behind the stumps. But no boundaries in the over.

Tom Holmes: This is absolutely exceptional bowling from Shrubsole and Knight in particular but the whole team are doing themselves proud.

Aidan Watson: Great performance by @Anya_shrubsole. Definitely seems to have forgotten the sun cream though...

  7. Ind 79-6published at 18 overs

    (Kaur 21, Patil 8)

Anuja Patil joins in the boundary fun, pulling Gunn into the leg-side fence. She then mis-times one but it loops just beyond Gunn attempting to run back for a return catch. Can India get to three figures with a productive final two overs?

  8. Ind 72-6published at 17 overs

    (Kaur 20)

They talk about a lack of power in women's cricket but this races away to the boundary with a minimum of effort, a glorious late cut, perfectly timed by Kaur. Shrubsole does not see the appeal of it though and kicks at the turf in frustration.

"What a big breakthrough. It's a classy catch. If any youngsters can see how Sarah Taylor gets down low it's a great example. I don't think there has been a better wicketkeeper in my era or before. You sense England have got into a roll now."

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.1 overs

    Goswami c Taylor b Shrubsole 2 (Ind 65-6)

The ever-accomplished Sarah Taylor excels yet again. Up to the stumps she snares an inside edge inches from the turf to dismiss the gangly Goswami.

  11. Ind 65-5published at 16 overs

    (Kaur 15)

A rare full toss from Knight is gleefully pulled away by Kaur and a diving Grundy on the leg-side fence cannot stop the boundary. No new PB for the bowler but still highly impressive figures and a nice memory to take from such a beautiful venue.

    Former Australia batter

"We spoke about the importance of Raj's innings, but for me Krishnamurthy has been the glue of all their innings. Heather Knight got through the gap and it's a very good wicket with a little bit of turn. She came around the wicket and got some revs on the ball."

  13. Ind 57-5published at 15 overs

    (Kaur 9)

Harmanpreet Kaur, the only other batter besides her captain to average over 20 in the India team, paddles Sciver behind square on the leg-side for a much needed boundary, only the fifth of the innings.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14 overs

    Krishnamurthy b Knight 2 (Ind 52-5)

Well it is not going to be Krishnamurthy, she becomes a third wicket for the accurate Knight. Skipping down the pitch she makes no contact and the ball strikes the off-stump.

  15. Ind 49-4published at 13 overs

    (Sciver 1-2)

A flat-footed Krishnamurthy almost gets an inside edge into the stumps but it thuds into her pad. Who is going to accelerate this India innings?

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.1 overs

    Raj c Greenway b Sciver 21 (Ind 47-4)

Well that's an ideal way to atone for a dropped catch, Sciver's first delivery claims the prize wicket of the Indian captain, who slices to backward point where a tumbling Greenway takes the catch.

  17. Ind 47-3published at 12 overs

    (Knight 2-5)

Impressive turn from Knight and she could threaten her previous best of 3-10.

"She has a great pair of hands Katherine Brunt. She really legged it around that boundary. To get around and get that hand up and hold on to it as she was falling to the ground was fantastic."

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.2 overs

    Pandey c Brunt b Knight 12 (Ind 44-3)

Well two catches have gone down but the hardest one of the day has been dramatically snared in her left hand by a diving Brunt on the mid-wicket boundary.

  20. Ind 43-2 (Raj 18, Pandey 12)published at 11 overs

Pandey is in no hurry to get back into her ground and England think there may be an unlikely run-out but replays show the bat was just grounded behind the crease in time before Taylor whipped off the bails. Pandey, busily moving around the crease, advances down the wicket to take two into the off-side from the final ball of Grundy's rather expensive over.
