Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special"I don't want to get too complacent in terms of an England win but it just shows the power of dot balls in a row. There is plenty of time for Afghanistan but you could feel the tension in the batsmen and the doubts really have settled in now."

3 oversGulbadin c Stokes b Willey 0 (Afg 13-3)
The pressure tells! Willey strikes again to remove Gulbadin Naib for 0. The batsman swings hard at a shortish ball but sends the ball looping up to Ben Stokes at cover for the catch. England's bowlers to the rescue!

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special"Don't assume game over, there are more batsmen to come and the target is not big enough but there was an element of intent from Jordan that we don't often see."

2 oversAsghar c Root b Jordan 1 (Afg 12-2)
England on the charge! The over starts with fist-bitingly infuriating two overthrows from Jason Roy but, after four tight, quick deliveries, ends with a wicket as Jordan draws a back-foot prod and edge from Asghar to take the ball to Joe Root at slip. That's the stuff.

1 overEngland will take that first over. It goes for nine but it contains the key wicket of Shahzad. Asghar Stanikzai has joined Noor Ali at the crease.

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special"We never know what to expect when we are following England but we felt this might be a routine victory to improve the run-rate. Hang on in there, this might be one of the great victories."

Willey strikes! Huge wicket! Willey gets the ball to nip back in and trap the static Shahzad in his crease. Up goes the finger. Great start for England. Shahzad can score very quickly. Not when he's back in the tent, though.

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special"We're in for a ride, on a good pitch like this you only need one person to get a big score and you are nearly there. England's bowling is not going to terrify anyone, including Afghanistan."

Ben Chambers: England's lack of world class spinners, is hurting our batsman's ability to play mystery spin, especially in Asia.
Ben Foley: So we're hoping a team that conceded over 400 runs in two games can now defend 140?! Highly unlikely.

11:18 GMT 23 March 2016I can tell you that Joe Root is warming up his spinning arm out there. After facing all that Afghanistan spin, England look to be adapting their strategy.
Two words: Liam Dawson.

OK, here goes... that is not as bad as it could have been...?
That's the best I can do. Moeen and Willey have at least given England a fighting chance. It is a slim fighting chance - a Justin Bieber vs Jason Statham fighting chance - but it is better than nothing.

11:10I was listening to Weezer yesterday, their last album was called Everything Will Be Alright In The End. Eoin Morgan should probably stick it on in the England dressing room.
Phil Dawkes is the man who'll find out just how this one will end for England...
