Rashid's reaction when he took the catch was brilliant, as if he couldn't believe that Jordan had hit it back to him. In fairness to Jordan, he did averagely in an otherwise shambolic situation. David Willey is the new man, making his way out to the middle as England cricket gaffer Andrew Strauss scratches what hair there is left on his head.

"It was a very big leading edge he was trying to whip it on the leg-side and another straightforward catch. Off goes Jordan. Modest success for England in that he got 16 but it is very, very ugly indeed and someone will have to play exceptionally well to get England out of this."
Jordan c&b Rashid 15 (Eng 85-7)
Another nail in England's coffin as Chris Jordan offers a simple return catch to Rashid Khan. Looking to work the ball on the leg side, against the spin, Jordan can only get a leading edge back to the bowler. As soft as all who have gone before him.

"At some point they have got to look beyond the single. It is big call to try and clear the boundary fielders here, we have seen just the one six - and that was a long time ago."
The incredibly impressive Nabi returns, Afghanistan continuing the successful plan of bowling about as slowly as possible. A rare Afghan fielding error, with Amir Hamza flapping around at fine leg like a man beached in the shallow end, brings Jordan four via an inside edge. Six to go.

"It will be remarkable if England get out of this hole. Curiously it will do morale a lot of good. But they have been tense, indecisive, with terrible judgement."
Afghanistan are taking pity on England here, with Samiullah Shenwari chucking one so far down the leg side that Mohammad Shahzad can't prevent it skipping away for five wides. Other than that, though, nothing much is happening. Which, when you're the batting side in a World T20, isn't good news...

"It is ugly even by the most pessimistic of English supporters, the two batsmen out there are tense, the running is far from fluid and they dare not go for the boundaries."
If you can bring yourself to watch it again, we've put together a little reminder of what may well be remembered as England's worst over in T20 cricket. Ever...
Inzamam-ul-Haq, the Afghanistan coach, is sitting on the dugout, talking to a man in a suit. In the middle, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan almost have a chat in the middle of the pitch, stopping and starting before deciding there isn't a single there. Still no sign of white leather crossing the rope.

Rob Latham: Hit 230 v South Africa, and now 53-6 v Afghanistan. The most English cricketing performance by an England cricket team?
George Holton: Pretty sure England are the only team who could go from world beaters to a shambles in a matter of days!
Jay: No other Test-playing nation has done as much to raise the profile of associate nations as England have.
Not a boundary in sight for England. Fours and sixes are an endangered species. Samiullah Shenwari, another leg-spinner, concedes only five singles from his set.

"It comes to something when you think 'can they possibly bat the overs?', but that's where England are at the moment."
"This is a situation for Chris Jordan" said no one, ever. He is the new man, England somehow needing their number eight inside the first 10 overs. Can we actually believe what we're seeing here?

"It was a horrible ball and you could see the bowler start to remonstrate with himself. Stokes couldn't believe his eyes, it took the bottom edge and went on to the stumps. You could not have scripted, from an English perspective, much more of a nightmare than what has happened here."
Stokes b Rashid 7 (Eng 53-6)
It's awful, it's really, really awful Ben Stokes is bowled by Rashid Khan, somehow ending up sitting on his backside. It's a half-tracker from Rashid, barely bouncing at ankle height. Stokes tries to launch it out of the ground, misses, loses his sticks and ends up sitting on the turf. Where's that white flag?
Moeen Ali is the latest England batsman pushed out of the dugout, charged with holding back what is an increasing large sky blue tide. What can England realistically hope to get to from here? 150? I'm not sure that would be enough against Mohammad Shahzad and co. Music plays in Delhi, the crowd cheer. The England dugout is sick with worry.

"Afghanistan are jumping around, they can't believe this situation."
