  3. Raja opts for a thrillerpublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2016

BBC Bengali’s Subhajyoti Ghosh in Dharamsala: "With the rain delays, journalists and pundits in the press box have been looking for alternative ways to entertain themselves. Former Pakistan player Rameez Raja is engrossed in a thriller, while Alan Wilkins is tucking into some local Himachali trout.

"Meanwhile a debate is going on about whether Dharamsala is the place with the highest rainfall in the world, or if it is second to Cherrapunjy-Mousinram, which is also in India.

Finally, Bangladesh’s print journalists are in a state – their deadline is fast approaching and they have no clue what to lead with…"

  14. Abandon all hope?published at 14:01

    Ireland v Bangladesh (14:00 GMT)

The reason it is such bad news for Ireland their fans is that rain means elimination.

Because Oman's match against Netherlands this morning was also rained off, it means the former now have three points. And if Ireland don't win this match (and then beat Netherlands in their final Group A encounter) it is adios to Will Porterfield and his side.

No such concerns for Bangladesh. They have two points in the bank, will get another if this gets abandoned and then have a qualification decider on Sunday against Oman. They have a superior run-rate so if the weather decides that they don't bowl or face another ball in Group A they will still progress.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Ireland v Bangladesh. I say "live coverage" but unfortunately the weather means we have little actual action to bring you right now.

And this is very bad news if you are an Ireland fan...
