"The ball hit him on the full, Dilshan set himself early and I don't think he hit it. Behardien, who has not done a lot of bowling lately, has picked up two wickets. Sri Lanka have frittered away here."

Dilshan lbw Behardien 36 (SL 85-5)

Wheels are coming off here. Tillakaratne Dilshan tries a reverse sweep, misses, gets given not out. Next ball, not to be beaten, he tries a conventional sweep, misses, and this time is plumb in front. Sri Lanka were 45-0 and have now lost 40-5.

  3. SL 82-4published at 12 overs

I'm told there are more people in the stadium tonight than for the Sri Lanka v England game on Saturday. Considering this is a dead rubber, that's bonkers. Phangiso for his final over, still skidding through with some non-turners. Only two from it. He ends with the very good figures of 2-26.

  4. SL 80-4published at 11 overs

Chamara Kapugedera is the latest man to join Dilshan for an over or two. OK, here we go. Five men have played T20 internationals for two teams. Name them...

"It was a little cutter from Behardien, and it popped up ever so gently. Jayasuriya has been waiting all tournament for a bat. It's tough, you're not in nick and you've got no time to get going."

    Jayasuriya c Du Plessis b Behardien 1 (SL 78-4)

Oh this is softer than three-ply toilet paper from Shehan Jayasuriya. The innocuous medium pace of Farhaan Behardien is patted straight to Faf du Plessis at extra cover. Sri Lanka are in danger of falling apart here.

Shehan Jayasuriya (no relation) is the new man. Siriwardana is back on the bench, arms folded, massive lip on his face. It's like he's been grounded. The last trivia question went down so well, I'm pondering another...

"Once you start taking on the likes of Faf du Plessis...Sri Lanka have gifted a wicket to South Africa. It's probably Siriwardana's error, he just hit and went. The key to these games is momentum, both these two were going nicely."

Siriwardana run out 15 (SL 75-3)

Milinda Siriwardana, what are you doing? Never take a single to Faf du Plessis. Ever. Dilhan knows that, sending Siriwardana back, but it's miles too late. He's already on the barbecue.

  11. SL 71-2published at 9 overs

Hmmm, not great from the returning Imran Tahir. A full toss drifts over waist-height, allowing a free hit that Dilshan heaves for four. Sri Lanka back on track after those two wickets in two. In some ways, it was good to get Thirimanne out of the way...

  13. SL 62-2published at 8 overs

David Wiese brings some pace and facial hair into the attack, dark hair bobbing up and down as he approaches the crease. Too short to left-hander Siriwardana, pulled for four. Bad dance music at the end of the over.

Jed Court: McCullum, Gilchrist, Dilshan and Ramdin?

Dilshan completes the set. The five are Gilchrist, Haddin, McCullum, Dilshan and Chandimal.

  15. SL 58-2published at 7 overs

Dilshan is looking the part here, not letting the wickets shackle him. Another sweep, this time behind square for four. At the end of the over he has a good wave to the squad. Must have spotted his mum. Teaser answer coming up...

"We've seen this a bit in this tournament: teams getting off to a real flyer, but then once the ball has had a bit of bat on it, things slowing down a bit."

  19. SL 47-2published at 6 overs

Spin from both ends. Imran Tahir unusually on during the powerplay. Dilshan still swinging for the fence, new man Milinda Siriwardana off the mark with a single. Good over. Slow men doing the trick for the Proteas. Phangiso hat-trick ball coming up...
