"Munro isn't David Gower is he? More Lance Klusener batting up the order. Rashid against Munro might be quite exciting."

  2. NZ 51-1 (Williamson 15, Munro 19)published at 6 overs

Liam Plunkett has been taking style tips from Milos Raonic - he's wearing a solitary black sleeve on his right arm. Munro is taking a liking to Plunkett here - he absolutely bludgeons him right back past his toes for four. The next shot isn't as well timed, but he manages to hoick behind square on the leg side for another boundary. And then he swats Plunkett off his hips for a third consecutive boundary, agricultural but effective. The axeman cometh.

"That was a really awful ball from Jordan. With fine leg up, that is the line you cannot bowl."

Jon Evans: In car with wife and mother. Not allowed Cricket on. BBC Cricket feed is my only hope currently.

Rich Adams: Clothes shopping in Plymouth with the good lady. Zzzzzz Thank goodness for the cricket.

Grundy: Watching the text updates whilst 'working'. Have a Kiwi friend watching it on TV in Australia. Plenty of sledging so far.

  5. NZ 38-1 (run rate 7.60)published at 5 overs

Munro is just struggling for rhythm here as Jordan cramps him for room on the leg side. A dot ball is followed by a frantic leg bye. Williamson and Guptill, by the way, had put on 50 in eight of their last 10 matches, so that early wicket is a real bonus for England though. They haven't got Williamson though, and he looks in the mood, swatting Jordan off his hips for four. Roy makes a great save at point off the last ball.

"With the man up at fine leg there is no margin for even slight error and the ball flew past Rashid."

    NZ 31-1

It's Yorkshire v Yorkshire now as Liam Plunkett is brought on to bowl at Kane Williamson. And he almost gets him first ball! Williamson paddles him over his shoulder and Adil Rashid dives forward but can't complete the catch. It might just have carried, but it was a very tough chance. Next time Williamson gets it where he wants, clipping just wide of Rashid and picking up a boundary. It's a solid but not spectacular start for the Kiwis.

"Willey has got 1-17 from two overs but since it is Guptill, I think he will take that."

    John Michael Poole: Huuuuuuuuge wicket.

  11. NZ 23-1published at 3 overs

The new man is Colin Munro, who hasn't really fired in this tournament but is capable of reeling off sixes like a tattooist at a satanists' convention. He charges at his first ball and smears a single into the leg side, then charges at his third ball and makes a better connection, slamming it over the infield for a one-bounce four.

    Guptill c Buttler b Willey 15 (NZ 17-1)

That could be a big wicket. Guptill dances at Willey, aims a big hoick and gets the thinnest of snicks through to Jos Buttler. Willey has a knack of getting early wickets, and he's done it on the biggest stage.

"Jordan has bowled quite quickly opening the bowling. I think his job is to run in. As for New Zealand, Guptill goes for it, Williamson is a bit more cagey."

  16. NZ 17-0 (Guptill 15, Williamson 1)published at 2 overs

Chris Jordan to open up from the other end. He's had a mixed tournament - generally reliable in the death overs but more expensive than a gold helicopter at the start. This is a good start though - four dots at the dangerous Guptill. Eventually though, Guptill gets what he wants - square-driving just in front of point for four.

  19. NZ 11-0published at 1 over

Wide again from Willey and Guptill throws his wrists at it, lofting it over cover for four. Then he hacks into the leg side to keep strike.
