    Plunkett scoops! Four!

  2. Eng 260-8published at 48.1 overs

Has that gone for four? Danushka out on the cover fence, diving. He's done brilliantly to stop the ball and not touch the rope. Woakes takes three. He's on 83.

"Knowing that the England batsmen are gunning for them, the Sri Lanka bowlers have been excellent."

  4. Eng 257-8 (target 287)published at 48 overs

Woakes inside-out. Crowd cheers, but there's a man out there. He at least keeps the strike. 30 needed off two overs. Go time.

Steve Clark: Awful decision, one of the worst I've seen. Fed up with umpires protecting bowlers who push the line to the last millimetre.

Maddy Raman: Check the rules, Bruce. Line belongs to the umpire. Appalling call, should be a no ball and free hit.

  6. Eng 254-8published at 47.4 overs

Woakes finally finds the fence. Down the ground, one-bounce four.

"Ever since Woakes got that blow on his arm he's been unable to connect with the ball as he normally would. He's frustrated."

  8. Eng 250-8 (need 37 from 15)published at 47.3 overs

England swinging for the fences, Chris Woakes crying out in anguish when he doesn't find the middle. Unless something remarkable happens, this one is toast.

Zeo Fondue: Clearly a no ball. What's the point of a third umpire if that's the quality of the call?

Jack: Should have been called a no-ball, you cannot say with any confidence that part of his foot is behind the line!

Neil Jones: What did they see that we couldn't? Very strange decision.

"That was the over of the game for me. When his captain asked for it and when the game demanded it, Lakmal delivered."

  11. Eng 247-8 (need 40 from 3 overs)published at 47 overs

Oh no! One of the all-time great misfields. Dasun Shanaka coming in from long-on, simply running past the ball. Don't forget to stop it, Dasun. Lakmal, the wronged bowler, returns to nailing the yorkers, pushing the ask to 40 from 18 balls.

"It's not easy at the moment for England. Lakmal has just put three yorkers in on the trot. He is an experienced campaigner and he's doing exactly what he's required."

  13. Eng 242-8 (need 45 from 21)published at 46.3 overs

Sri Lanka have bowled very well in these last 10 overs. Mixing pace, nailing yorkers, not giving England the chance to target that short boundary. More than two a ball required. Everest-like. Get Carlos Brathwaite out there.

We're still seeing replays of the Willey wicket. Want me to stick my neck out? No-ball. Sri Lanka get a decision they might think is long overdue. England, with Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett at the crease, need 49 from 24 balls.

"I think the unwritten rules are that the benefit of doubt goes to the bowler in this situation. So that's unfortunate. It's a big wicket for Sri Lanka. Now You've got the in-form Liam Plunkett, who can strike them."

    Willey c Mendis b Maharoof 7 (Eng 235-8)

Boos inside TB, because many watching on the big screen felt Farveez Maharoof didn't have anything behind the line. Third ump Bruce Oxenford felt otherwise and David Willey has to go. In fairness, the wicket was coming. Willey barely looked like connecting with one and the lob to cover was an inevitable outcome.
