BBC Test Match Special
And, as ever, we have this covered from all angles. Test Match Special will switch attention to Trent Bridge at 13:45 (after the women's ODI, more on that later), while we have highlights of the action right here. If that doesn't sate you, you're stuck with my nonsense.
Got all that? Thoughts? The right move to recall Bairstow? What about the make-up of that attack? And are Sri Lanka set to be more dangerous now we have the pyjamas on? Text 81111, tweet using the hashtag #bbccricket, external or email tms@bbc.co.uk.
Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews: "I was going to bat first anyway. It looks a really good day and a really good wicket.
"It's a bit of fresh air for us [the change in format]. We've been disappointing in the Test series. We've got a few experienced guys coming in and we've had a good few days in Ireland as well. There were convincing victories in Ireland, but we've got to be at our best to beat the England team.
"It's just the one change for us. Unfortunately Shaminda Eranga misses out and Nuwan Pradeep comes in. We've had a really bad couple of months with leading bowlers going home, and unfortunately one more has to go home."
England have also opted to omit Chris Jordan, a regular death bowler, with the in-form Chris Woakes getting the nod. Liam Plunkett edges out Steven Finn.
England captain Eoin Morgan: "There has been a lot of rain. The outfield is still wet. If there is anything in it it will be now. I think it is a really good wicket and on that pace off the ball works better than pace on it.
"We have no Finn, Jordan or Vince so Jonny Bairstow is in at five and we have two spinners. Ben Stokes leaves a big hole. Hopefully he gets back to full fitness soon."
Having said that, England are sticking with two spinners, eschewing the temptation to play four seamers. Mathews says he wanted to bat first anyway. Everybody's happy.
No surprises here. The Trent Bridge track was under cover for much of yesterday, perhaps leaving some grass and moisture. After Angelo Mathews calls heads, it comes downs tails and Eoin Morgan wants a bowl. He confirms that Jonny Bairstow is back in the side.
The chat from TB seems to suggest that Bairstow will indeed return to the one-day side for the first time since September, meaning England will be relying on five frontline bowlers.
We await confirmation at the toss...
And we begin at Trent Bridge, where England will probably be glad of the recent wet weather and the opportunity it brings to once again make Sri Lanka feel unwelcome.
It's those conditions that will influence England's major selection decision - that of how to replace the injured Ben Stokes.
An extra batsman in the shape of Jonny Bairstow? No need for the leg-spin of Adil Rashid? Or a seamer to bump Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali up the order?
See, after a rather one-sided Test series, Sri Lanka are certainly in need of a change and the switch to white-ball cricket is a welcome one for the tourists.
For all of their improvement in limited-overs cricket in the past year, England are still only ranked the sixth best ODI side in the world by the ICC.
With Sri Lanka a place higher, we should be in for a competitive series.
Clearly not my words, but those of American rock band Smash Mouth.
Now, I don't know if the Californians are keen on cricket or not, but I'm finding the lyrics from 'All Star' quite helpful today.
Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas, I need to get myself away from this place. I said yep, what a concept, I could use a little fuel myself, and we could all use a little change.
