  1. SUSSEX REQUIRE 11 TO WINpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 May 2016
    Breaking

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 307

The gutsy last-wicket stand of 51 between Tony Palladino and Ben Cotton ends as Cotton's stumps are sent flying by Ajmal Shahzad.

It was thrilling while it lasted though - just 29 balls!

    Sussex need 11 for victory.

  2. wicket

WICKET Rashid (c Croft b Kerrigan 34)published at 14:44 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 204-8 v Lancashire 196

Lancashire are still fighting at Headingley. Simon Kerrigan has Adil Rashid caught at short-leg by skipper Steven Croft for 34.

Liam Plunkett is still there on 45. The big all-rounder is averaging more than 50 in the County Championship this season - I'm sure he's batted at number 11 before for England?!

  3. Derbyshire leadpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 302-9

Sussex have got a chase on their hands as Derbyshire move into the lead. It's only five at the moment, but Derbyshire's last-wicket pair, Tony Palladino and Ben Cotton, are showing plenty of spirit.

And some great strokeplay! They've put on 46 in 3.3 overs. Madness.

BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms sets the scene quite nicely...

  4. 21 off the over!published at 14:31 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 289-9

Oh my word, Ben Cotton has gone bonkers for Derbyshire!

The number 11 batsman hits Sussex paceman Stu Whittingham for three fours in an over which eventually goes for 21.

All of the sudden Cotton finds himself on 22 off nine balls and Derbyshire are just 10 runs in arrears.

WICKET Taylor (c Taylor b Robinson 9)published at 14:23 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 267-9

Derbyshire are on the verge at Hove. Tom Taylor edges Ollie Robinson to his namesake Ross and Sussex need one more.

Tony Palladino is going to go down fighting for the visitors though as he launches Robinson for a big six at the end of the over.

  7. Yorkshire lead above 300published at 14:20 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 196-7 v Lancashire 196

Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid are beginning to take this game away from their Red Rose rivals.

The pair have put on 66 in good time to take the advantage to 308. It's already beginning to feel like only one team can win this now.

But stranger things have happened in cricket, and the weather could well have the final say.

  8. Another Worcestershire wicket!published at 14:18 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Worcestershire 439 & 20-1 v Gloucestershire 364-6 dec

And another at New Road! Joe Clarke is bowled byLiam Norwell for nought.

How many wickets can Gloucestershire get before the rain arrives?

  9. Wicket at New Roadpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Worcestershire 439 & 20-1 v Gloucestershire 364-6 dec

He's been in magnificent form so far this season, but Worcestershire opener Brett D'Oliveira now has two failures to his name in this match as he's pinned lbw by Liam Norwell for three.

Perhaps that was a very shrewd declaration by Gloucestershire. Worcestershire's lead is 95.

  10. wicket

WICKET Thakor (c Brown b Whittingham 81)published at 14:12 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 244-8

Is that Derbyshire's last throw of the dice gone? Stu Whittingham removes Shiv Thakor 19 short of his second successive hundred as he nicks the paceman behind.

Derbyshire still need 53 to avoid an innings defeat with just two wickets in hand.

  12. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Notts 534 & 289-5 v Durham 447

Ah, it's started raining at Trent Bridge now. Looking at the rain radar, they may get away with a passing shower, but it's only going to eat into Nottinghamshire's time to try and force a win.

  13. 100 runs

Brendan Taylor hits second century of matchpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Notts 534 & 284-5 v Durham 447

I guess that's why Nottinghamshire were holding off their declaration - Brendan Taylor brings up his second hundred of the game off just 80 balls.

The Zimbabwean has smacked nine fours and five maximums.

The players are still out there though, even with a Nottinghamshire lead of 371.

  14. Yorkshire's strength in depthpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 172-7 v Lancashire 196

Yorkshire's strong lower order has been so, so important during their success over the last few years.

And it's proving its worth once again today. Liam Plunkett (23 not out) and Adil Rashid's (23 not out) eighth-wicket stand is now worth 41.

Yorkshire's lead is 283 - have they got enough to defend already?

  15. wicket

WICKET Patel (c Richardson b Borthwick 10)published at 13:47 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Notts 564 & 264-5 v Durham 447

I'm a little bit confused as to why Nottinghamshire are batting on after the lunch break. However, they are, and Samit Patel is now out, caught by Michael Richardson to give Scott Borthwick his third wicket.

Notts already lead by 351 - surely time to declare lads?!

  16. Gloucestershire declarepublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 31 May 2016
    Breaking

    Worcestershire 439 v Gloucestershire 364-6 dec

With the threat of rain this afternoon, that looks like a a very sensible declaration from Gloucestershire.

They still trail Worcestershire by 75, but a good part of today may be washed out.

Time for their bowlers to have a go.

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 211-7

Sussex are three wickets away from victory is appears. Matt Critchley edges veteran paceman Steve Magoffin behind for 20.

Shiv Thakor is surely the visitors last hope of getting any sort of lead at Hove. He's 62 not out, but they're still 86 runs away from making Sussex bat again.

  20. Thakor averaging 94.50published at 13:22 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Sussex 447-8 dec v Derbyshire 150 & 203-6

Shiv Thakor's batting average in the County Championship this season is now pushing up towards the hundred mark.

Granted, the Derbyshire all-rounder has had a few not outs, but the important thing is he's still there today for his side on 61.

Still plenty of hard work to do though. Derbyshire trail by 94.
