  1. wicket

WICKET Gale (c Hameed b Wagner 7)published at 11:33 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 89-6 v Lancashire 196

The Red Rose are back in this! Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale is now out, caught at short-leg by Haseeb Hameed off Neil Wagner.

The White Rose are suddenly looking shaky. How many more twists and turns are we going to get in this one?!

  2. wicket

WICKET Patterson (c Croft b Smith 1)published at 11:27 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 89-5 v Lancashire 196

He did his job last night, but Steven Patterson is more than capable of holding a bat and I'm sure he would have wanted to have stuck around for a big longer this morning.

However, he has to go as he nicks Tom Smith behind. Smith now has 2-5.

Yorkshire are still in the driving seat, but Lancashire have plenty of hope. The Tykes' lead is 201.

  3. Northants in strifepublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Northants 444 & 74-5 v Essex 640

Talking of nightwatchmen, Ben Sanderson is the fifth man out for Northants, as Ravi Bopara gets him lbw.

The dark clouds may be rolling into Wantage Road, but if and when any rain delay is over - Northants will have a battle on their hands to save this game.

  4. The job of the nightwatchmanpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 89-4 v Lancashire 196

Steven Patterson is doing a good one at Headingley. The Yorkshire nightwatchman has survived for 29 balls without scoring.

Frustrating for Lancashire I'm sure. Actually scrap that - Patterson is off the mark!

  5. No play before lunchpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Middlesex 467-3 dec v Hampshire 131 & 62-3

That's the word from BBC Radio London's Kevin Hand...

  6. Rain on way?published at 11:13 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Northants 444 & 70-4 v Essex 640

Hmm, this doesn't look too encouraging from BBC Radio Northampton's Alex Winter at Wantage Road.

Although it may be good news for Northants who are in a bit of trouble - they still trail by 126.

  7. Breakthrough at New Roadpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Worcestershire 439 v Gloucestershire 235-6

And another wicket at New Road where Worcestershire spinner Brett D'Oliveira removes Jack Taylor leg-before-wicket for six.

Gloucestershire still need 55 to avoid the follow on, but Graeme van Buuren is still there on 106.

  8. Early wicket at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Notts 534 & 105-2 v Durham 447

There is also a wicket in the first over at Nottinghamshire. Durham fast bowler Graham Onions traps Greg Smith lbw for 21.

The draw is still very much favourite here, with Nottinghamshire's lead only at 192, but you never know in this crazy County Championship season!

  9. wicket

WICKET Lyth (b Wagner 48)published at 11:03 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

    Yorkshire 308 & 81-4 v Lancashire 196

What a dream start to day three for Lancashire and Neil Wagner! Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth starts proceedings with a four to move to 48, but is then bowled around his legs by the New Zealand paceman with the very next delivery.

Just what Lancashire needed to get back into this game - Yorkshire's lead is 193.

  12. Delayed startspublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 31 May 2016

So where are we going to have delayed starts I hear you ask? Well a heavy (torrential) rain band is heading from east to west across England today - and it's currently sitting over the east of England.

The covers are on at Canterbury, Hove and Northwood, where Middlesex are playing Hampshire.

We could also be in danger at Trent Bridge and Wantage Road shortly.

As the saying goes (I think) - west is best!

    County Championship

Would anyone like to move to sunny Dubai with me? And take all the County Championship cricket with us?

Because I'm afraid we have a fairly familiar theme this morning - a number of matches heading towards exciting finishes, but the covers are on.

It's not all doom and gloom though, we do have some cricket to bring you on time - including at Headingley where the Roses match in wonderfully poised.

The action gets under way in about five minutes.
