So that's it for another round of the County Championship, with wins for leaders Middlesex, Surrey and Hampshire in Division One, while promotion favourites Essex, Sussex and Glamorgan came out on top in games in the second tier. 

The Championship resumes next Tuesday when the chasing pack have a chance to close the gap on Middlesex, who have a week off, while match of the round in Division Two is undoubtedly Leicestershire against Essex, as second plays first at Grace Road.

Before that, however, we have live BBC radio commentary tomorrow and Thursday on the One-Day Cup quarter-finals and then it's T20 Blast Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday as Yorkshire, Northants, Notts and Durham vie for the first county prize of the summer. When Glamorgan began their run-chase against Worcestershire at New Road, Owen Morgan was probably not the player Welsh cricket fans expected to lead them to victory, but that is what happened as he made an unbeaten century.

Afterwards, he told BBC Wales Sport:  "Not in my wildest imagination (did I think I'd bat through), my main target was to see out the first hour with Jakesy (captain Jacques Rudolph), and hopefully build from there.

"Thankfully I managed to bat the whole day, I didn't think of seeing it through until Aneurin (Donald) started whacking a few and the winning line came in sight quite quickly.

"At the start of the year I wouldn't have imagined myself in this position, so I'm very pleased. I've always been able to bat but this year it's glued together a bit more and it's given me a lot more more confidence.

"Being a bowler is obviously my main suit but hopefully I can become a good all-rounder."

Surrey skipper Gareth Batty has been speaking to BBC Radio London following their win over Warwickshire at Edgbaston - which avenged a 10-wicket loss to the Bears at Guildford.

He said: "I can't ask for any more from any individual, which from a captaincy point of view is a wonderful place to be.

"Probably for about six weeks now, we've been absolutely magnificent. On hard squares, players (have been) diving and putting their bodies on the line, Meaks (Stuart Meaker) bowling with an old satsuma and charging in.

"It was a wonderful game of cricket and very good performance from us. I think we're nearing that time of year when traditionally we're pretty good. On the flatter pitches, we're putting in some wonderful performances."

Glamorgan nightwatchman Owen Morgan hits the final delivery of the game for four to bring up a maiden first-class century off 242 balls. The 22-year-old batted all day, having begun on nine not out, to reach an unbeaten 103, with Craig Meschede 17 not out at the other end.

It's the second win of the summer for the Welsh county, who move to seventh in Division Two, while Worcestershire - relegated last season - are fourth, 34 points behind leaders Essex. 

So the final day is a bit of a let-down at Wantage Road as Leicestershire skipper Mark Cosgrove opts for batting practice, with strike bowler Clint McKay carrying an injury.   

The Australian delays the declaration until they are 414 ahead, with Paul Horton one of five victims for teenage spinner Saif Zaib, the opener going for 99.

Northants captain Alex Wakely is 53 not out when the game ends and David Murphy is on 36, but they slip to second bottom because Glamorgan have a higher bonus-points tally. Leicestershire climb to second, 23 points behind Essex, who they play at Grace Road next week.

The teams shake hands with the task of scoring 367 beyond Yorkshire, but no sign a wicket for the Lancashire attack. Alex Lees is unbeaten on 114, having hit a six and 15 fours, with partner Adam Lyth 63 not out.

Star of the day, though, is Haseeb Hameed, who became the first Lancashire batsman to score two centuries in a Roses match and went past 1,000 runs for the season in the process.

Yorkshire's 10 points puts them second, 26 points behind Middlesex with a game in hand, with Lancashire eight points further back in fourth place. They, however, have played the same number of matches as the leaders.

Gareth Batty has last man Oliver Hannon-Dalby leg-before for a duck as Surrey leap up to third in the Division One table.

Tim Ambrose is left unbeaten on 27 not out, but it has been an undistinguished batting effort by Warwickshire, who have won two of their 12 games, with wickets shared among six different Surrey bowlers.

Bowling straight and fast, Brad Wheal claims his second wicket of the over to dismiss last man Harry Gurney and seal victory for Hampshire. He has career-best figures of 6-51 and the win lifts them off the bottom of the Division One table.

They are now 14 points clear of Notts, and although two teams go down, the result will give them belief that they can repeat last season's escape, with four matches remaining.

Having won the title as recently as 2010, Notts are in a precarious position with just one win from 12 games so far - and six defeats.

Well bowled 19-year-old Brad Wheal, who claims five wickets in a Championship innings for the first time by removing Nottinghamshire's captain. Last man Harry Gurney comes out, but it's only a matter of time now before Hampshire wrap this up.

Alex Lees hits his 13th boundary - this one to third man off Nathan Buck - to reach his second Championship hundred of the summer. 

It's been a fine effort by the left-hander, but the overs are running out for the defending champions, who need another 195 from the remaining 23 overs.

Glamorgan appear to have overcome the loss of two quick wickets before tea and now need just 68 to win from 28 overs. Don't expect them to come with a rush, though - Owen Morgan has so far batted eight minutes short of five hours for his 86 not out. Aneurin Donald is on 29 and their partnership is worth 59.

Yorkshire's chances of an unlikely victory in the Roses match may be fading, with Alex Lees and Adam Lyth unable to find the boundary thanks to tight bowling by Kyle Jarvis and Nathan Buck after tea. Another 215 are needed with only 27 overs remaining.

"On a wicket that hasn't deteriorated but just flattened out - even into it's eighth day now (it was used for an England Under-19 Test) - Leicestershire decided it was going to be very difficult to bowl Northamptonshire out on the final day.

"They have settled for 11 points to keep them in the promotion shake-up, with leaders Essex to come next week at Grace Road.

"Northants would have hoped for a chase here and a tune-up for Thursday's 50-over quarter-final against Surrey, but instead they are gently batting out time to secure 10 points."

"Nightwatchman Owen Morgan has led Glamorgan's grind towards a target of 277 with a superb first-class best of 80 not out - double his previous highest score.

"Will Bragg joined him in a stand of 88 for the third wicket only to be smartly stumped down leg-side by Ben Cox off seamer Charlie Morris for 46, while David Lloyd fell lbw to Joe Leach in the next over.

"Morgan, the county's fourth-choice spinner at the start of the season, has looked immovable since being dropped at slip on 10.

"Glamorgan need 84, Worcestershire need six wickets and there are 35 overs left of an absorbing game that looked set to finish in three days when 15 wickets fell on Saturday." 

One important wicket to tell you about just before the tea interval with Rikki Clarke bowled by Surrey's Sam Curran for 17 at Edgbaston. Keith Barker will join Tim Ambrose after tea, but Warwickshire are in deep trouble.
