WICKET Taylor (c Adams b Crane 58)published at 15:44 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Hampshire 319 & 393-7 dec v Nottinghamshire 245 & 259-6

Things will look bleak for whichever side loses this game and Hampshire now seem to have the upper hand as leg-spinner Mason Crane picks up his second wicket to end the afternoon session, with Brendan Taylor taken in the slips.

  3. 50 runs

Lyth reaches half-centurypublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Lancashire 494 & 232-3 dec v Yorkshire 360 & 146-0

Adam Lyth follows partner Alex Lees to fifty with three runs off Arron Lilley. The required rate for Yorkshire is 5.3 per over and they don't have their strongest batting line-up on duty, but all 10 wickets are still intact. If the two left-handers are still together in 10 overs time and can get the target down to 150-160 by then, it will be all to play for.

  4. Bears hang on against Surreypublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Surrey 252 & 390 v Warwickshire 247 & 142-6

Tim Ambrose and Rikki Clarke are doing their best to keep Surrey at bay at Edgbaston, but the visitors will get a new ball in 14 overs, should they need it. Warwickshire need another 254 to win, but that is looking like a bit of a long-shot.

  5. wicket

WICKET Mullaney (c Berg b Wheal 137)published at 15:24 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Hampshire 319 & 393-7 dec v Nottinghamshire 245 & 245-5

Nottinghamshire's main man is gone after hitting two sixes and 19 fours in his 227-ball innings and Brad Wheal follows up by having Samit Patel caught behind down the leg-side with his next delivery. He's on a hat-trick - but the question is how do Notts play it from here? They need 223 from 40, which is doable, but half the side are now gone.

  6. wicket

WICKET Lloyd (lbw Leach 0)published at 15:11 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Worcestershire 163 & 393 v Glamorgan 280 & 154-4

Worcestershire are right back in it at New Road after Joe Leach sends David Lloyd packing for a three-ball quacker. Glamorgan need 123 from 43 overs - Worcestershire need six more wickets. Who wants it the most?

  7. Yorkshire pair frustrate Lancs attackpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Lancashire 494 & 232-3 dec v Yorkshire 360 & 101-0

Lancashire have managed to reduce the flow of Yorkshire boundaries in the Roses match, but wickets are still eluding them at Old Trafford. Alex Lees is on 66 and Adam Lyth 32, and the century partnership has arrived. Another 266 needed for victory.

  8. 50 runs

Taylor plays supporting rolepublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Hampshire 319 & 393-7 dec v Nottinghamshire 245 & 232-3

The bottom-of-the-table battle at Trent Bridge is boiling up towards a good finish, with Notts requiring another 236 from 45 overs. Brendan Taylor's fifty took 93 balls and his stand with centurion Steven Mullaney is now worth 149.

  9. wicket

WICKET Bragg (st Cox b Morris 46)published at 15:02 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Worcestershire 163 & 393 v Glamorgan 280 & 147-3

Will Bragg will be cross with himself about that one, stumped down the leg-side with his side going well in their attempt to score 277 for victory.

Owen Morgan is unbeaten on 65, after a stand off 88 with Bragg, as David Lloyd joins him at the crease.

  10. wicket

WICKET Newton (b Raine 22)published at 14:57 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Leicestershire 519 & 292-6 dec v Northamptonshire 397-7 dec & 37-1

The number two must be Rob Newton's favourite. He made 202 not out in Northamptonshire's first innings and now he goes for 22 in the second. Will Leicestershire pick up the nine wickets remaining to keep them on Essex's coat-tails?

  12. wicket

WICKET Bell (c Burns b Batty 32)published at 14:53 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Surrey 252 & 390 v Warwickshire 247 & 111-6

Has the game at Edgbaston taken a decisive turn? Warwickshire bat deep, but the loss of their captain is a major setback to their chances of hanging on for a draw.

  13. 100 runs

MULLANEY REACHES CENTURY FOR NOTTSpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Hampshire 319 & 393-7 dec v Nottinghamshire 245 & 188-3

Steven Mullaney has scored more than half of Nottinghamshire's runs in this innings and he completes his third century of the season - and 11th first-class ton of his career - with back-to-back fours off Brad Wheal.

Brendan Taylor does likewise at the start of the next over, bowled by spinner Liam Dawson - they need 280 from 52 and a bit overs.

Mr Mullaney has an interesting bat sponsor - which reminds me of a favourite song lyric: "And we like Hooters for their hot wings too" (Girls Lie Too, Terri Clark).

Yorkshire continue positive startpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Lancashire 494 & 232-3 dec v Yorkshire 360 & 70-0

Alex Lees hits two successive boundaries off spinner Simon Kerrigan to bring up a 55-ball half-century in the Roses match at Old Trafford. If anyone told Yorkshire they have no chance of winning this game, Lees clearly wasn't listening. Another 297 still needed, though, from 53 overs.

If Yorkshire win this match, it'll be almost as good as Barnsley winning twice at Wembley in one season - but not quite....(hope I'm not showing too many allegiances there - this text comm is unbiased).

  15. Foxes call a haltpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Leicestershire 519 & 292-6 dec v Northamptonshire 397-7 dec

Finally the declaration comes at Wantage Road after David Murphy removes Ned Eckersley for a single, his first wicket in a Championship match. Saif Zaib returns figures of 5-148, but it's now just a question of survival for Northants with Leicestershire 414 ahead. Niall O'Brien makes an unbeaten 36 off 14 balls.

  16. 50 runs

Morgan boosts Glamorgan chancespublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Worcestershire 163 & 393 v Glamorgan 280 & 122-2

Owen Morgan collects a boundary off Ed Barnard to reach a maiden first-class fifty. It's taken the Glamorgan nightwatchman 138 balls and the Welsh county are certainly doing this the hard way after being set a target of 277. Morgan's stand with Will Bragg is currently worth 63.

  17. Zaib makes his markpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Leicestershire 519 & 266-5 v Northamptonshire 397-7 dec

It's been quite a day for teenagers and now slow left-armer Saif Zaib - aged 18 years and 86 days - has his first five-for after trapping Neil Dexter lbw for 33. Leicestershire's lead is almost 400, but do they have what it takes to bowl the home side out in the rest of the day, with Clint McKay carrying an injury from earlier in the match.

If you don't know what Zaib looks like - here he is.

  18. Lees looking goodpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Lancashire 494 & 232-3 dec v Yorkshire 360 & 40-0

Lancashire are still searching for their first breakthrough after declaring 367 ahead in the Roses match at Old Trafford. Alex Lees hits four successive boundaries in Nathan Buck's third over - surely Yorkshire don't believe this is on, do they?

  19. wicket

WICKET Pettini (st Keogh b Zaib 24)published at 14:05 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Leicestershire 519 & 254-4 v Northamptonshire 397-7 dec

Saif Zaib takes his fourth wicket but the door has been well and truly slammed on any hopes Northants may have harboured of a run-chase at the start of the final day. Still Leicestershire grind on - Niall O'Brien hits a six off part-time bowler David Murphy and the lead is 381.

  20. wicket

WICKET Evans (b Ansari 9)published at 13:55 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Surrey 252 & 390 v Warwickshire 247 & 79-5

The spinners are operating in tandem for Surrey at Edgbaston and it's left-armer Zafar Ansari who accounts for Laurie Evans shortly after lunch. Ian Bell is still there on 16 not out, but he has a big job on his hands to save his side from defeat.
