    Kent v Worcestershire 24-1

    Lizzy Ammon
BBC county cricket reporter at Canterbury

"It's a warm, muggy and overcast day here in the Garden of England.

"Surprisingly, Worcestershire decided not to take the option to bowl and Kent won the subsequent toss and decided to make the most of the muggy conditions by bowling first.

"Worcestershire are without Brett D'Oliveira who has dislocated a finger so young George Rhodes is opening in just his second County Championship match.

"There's been some swing and movement from the opening bowlers Matt Coles and Darren Stevens.

"It's a late start here because Kent were playing in Hove last night. So we'll have a shortened first session with lunch at 13:30 BST."

Glamorgan v Northants - start delayed due to rain

"No play before lunch at St Helen's after early morning rain compounded by a sharp shower just after 11:00 BST, with the square too slippery for the umpires' liking.

"When we do get under way, there'll be changes in both sides. Glamorgan are set to give a debut to 19-year-old seamer Lukas Carey, while Ruaidhri Smith plays his first competitive game of 2016.

"That's because the trusty trio of Graham Wagg, Craig Meschede and Michael Hogan are resting before next week's T20 Blast quarter-final against Yorkshire, following a hectic recent schedule.

"Northants give a debut to batsman Laurie Evans, on loan from Warwickshire, while ex-Hampshire batsman Sean Terry gets a second game - with Alex Wakeley, Josh Cobb, Adam Rossington and Steven Crook all nursing various injuries ahead of their limited-overs quarter-final dates."
