  2. WI 71-1published at 22 overs

England need a wicket - so turn to off-spinner and captain Heather Knight, who has been their highest wicket-taker, external in ICC Women's Championship matches (with 26, ahead of Anya Shrubsole's 24). Can she be the partnership-breaker her country needs? Not at first - but it's a very tight over with just a single from it.

England assistant coach Ali Maiden on TMS: "They are still only at three and a half runs per over. Another couple of wickets and we'll be quite pleased."

  4. WI 70-1published at 21 overs

    Quintyne 32, Taylor 25

It's a hot old day in Jamaica, as you'd expect, and can't be easy for the England fielders as the Windies partnership is now well past 50. More ones and twos from Hartley's third over.

  5. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

England assistant coach Ali Maiden and BBC TMS's Stephan Shemilt have been discussing the average score at Sabina Park in men's ODI internationals, which is in the 240s...

Maiden says: "The way we work is 75% of the men's average gives us a par score. I think you'd be in the game with 200 today."

  6. WI 67-1published at 20 overs

It's still Laura Marsh from the Michael Holding End, Quintyne is hit in front sweeping and Marsh looks confident... but was it going down leg? There was no signal from the umpire as they ran through for a single, so there must have been some bat on it. And Taylor brings up the 50 partnership by whacking a straight six, the first of today's game.

  7. Postpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

England assistant coach Ali Maiden on TMS: "This will be a big moment for Alex because nobody has got her away in this series."

  8. WI 58-1published at 19 overs

Hartley, left-arm round, is finding a bit of turn, but Quintyne gets after her, going inside-out with a blast over cover for four.

  9. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

England assistant coach Ali Maiden on TMS: The wicket will get slower through the day so we will have to play spin well. You are looking for your big players to get a score, like Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight or Lauren Winfield. You're looking for 75-plus from someone and you can build partnerships around that.

  11. drinks break

    Drinks breakpublished at 18 overs

    WI 54-1

England keep their two main spinners bowling in tandem as Marsh sends down her fifth over - and Quintyne can't help but keep picking out Heather Knight at square leg. The Kent off-spinner fields well off her own bowling - having been taken for a couple of fours last over, she bounces back with a maiden over this time, and the little white golf buggy rattles on to signal a drinks break.

  12. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

England assistant coach Ali Maiden on TMS: "The pitches have suited batting first but you hope you can change that by restricting them to a total we can chase. Look, we've just got to play better than them, ultimately."

  13. WI 54-1published at 17 overs

Time for some left-arm spin from Alex Hartley, who's had an impressive series with nine wickets from the first three matches. She has a slip in, a ring of four on the off side, and two on the legside fence. Just a swept single from Quintyne this over.

  14. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

England assistant coach Ali Maiden has joined Stephan Shemilt in the TMS box and is hoping to oversee a clatter of West Indies wickets, as happened when he did a commentary stint in the third ODI...

"On Friday I took five wickets - that's why I've been sent up.

"In terms of the run rate we're quite happy. If we get one or two more wickets things might change a bit."

  15. WI 53-1published at 16 overs

    Quintyne 23, Taylor 17

Laura Marsh, bowling in her sunglasses in the style of fellow off-spinner Graeme Swann, is drilled for a four through the covers by Windies captain Stafanie Taylor - who then backs away to cut another four. A good over for the hosts.

  16. WI 44-1published at 15 overs

A great over from the tall Jenny Gunn - a maiden, in fact. So the angry penguin is nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, Charlton fan Lydia Greenway is astonished to hear the story of how an invasion of plastic pigs thrown on the pitch halted yesterday's game against Coventry at The Valley. She's convinced her dad - a long-time Addicks follower and TMS listener - wouldn't have been involved.

England will probably be a little bit frustrated that they haven't picked up a second wicket, especially with the way Quintyne has played, taking risks. They have to remain patient and keep their discipline.

  18. WI 44-1published at 14 overs

    Quintyne 22, Taylor 9

Quintyne - for the umpteenth time today - hoists an England bowler over mid-on, but safely. Some good hustle brings the Windies a couple more from Marsh's over.

They have run well from the start of their innings, rotation of the strike is extremely key in these conditions. You are not going to get many boundaries.

  20. WI 42-1published at 13 overs

We shouldn't be surprised that a West Indies player was singing Total Eclipse of the Heart. For when it comes to their batting line-up... every now and then, they fall apart. I thank you.

Another tight over from Jenny Gunn - who, Lydia Greenway reveals on TMS, gets called "the angry penguin" by her team-mates when she gets annoyed, because of her long arms. Just two runs from it.
