One morning the other day I was surprised when West Indies' Britney Cooper was listening to Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

I was approaching her, she hadn't seen me and I was worried about frightening her. If you are listening to a power ballad, that's something you are focusing on. But I knew I was going to scare her if I walked past and hadn't announced myself.

I knew on some level this was going to end badly. It was quite early and there were a number of options. I chose the worst - I thought I'd be the backing singer and sang 'Turn Around' and she looked horrified.

  2. WI 40-1published at 12 overs

Marsh begins a new over and keeps it tight - only a single off the last ball spoils what would have been a maiden over. This stand is now worth 28.

At that end there are a few areas not that covered in grass - it's a bit plasticine-y

  4. WI 39-1published at 11 overs

Quintyne is completely foxed by a slower ball from Gunn - one of the slowest deliveries you'll see in international cricket, but mightily effective, as it just about reaches Amy Jones' gloves with Quintyne already through her shot. The opener dabs a quick single towards mid-on - while Gunn is unlucky to be charged with a wide outside off stump.

  6. WI 37-1published at 10 overs

England turn to spin for the first time, in the person of off-spinner Laura Marsh - and Taylor unleashes a powerful cut shot, but the outfield is as slow as it was the other day and the ball slows to a crawl by the time England retrieve it and the Windies have run two.

I was with Heather Knight and Laura Marsh last night and we were discussing national treasures again. We agreed on the Queen and the Royal Family, David Attenborough and Elton John. To be a national treasure you have to be around a long time.

  8. WI 35-1published at 9 overs

    Quintyne 18, Taylor 6

Medium-pacer Jenny Gunn, England's all-time highest ODI wicket-taker, replaces Brunt - Gunn took 2-8 from five overs on Friday and was unlucky not to get a second spell. Quintyne takes the aerial route over the bowler's head once more, but the ball plugs and they can only run two.

I'll have whatever West Indies are having. After a pretty insipid batting display on Friday, there's a definite change of gameplan today. Early aggression, looking to make the most of batting conditions that are likely to be the best they will be all day.

It looks like Quintyne is willing to have a go against the England bowlers, trying to put them off their line.

  11. WI 30-1published at 8 overs

Quintyne skies Sciver over her head - but it falls safely between two fielders. Still steady but unspectacular from West Indies - and it looks like we have a bowling change coming up.

Stephan has really been pushing Lydia for more details about England's team song, which she co-wrote with T20 specialist Tash Farrant...

It's only sung when England win a match. We only used to sing it if we won a series but as time has gone on it's after every win - you have to value every one.

The captain used to nominate someone to start it off - there is a bit of bat-banging and stamping of feet.

Previous to Just Can't Get Enough we had a Take That song - Never Forget. That was our song for quite a number of years.

Sedate from West Indies - just a Quintyne single from Brunt's fourth over.

  17. WI 24-1published at 6 overs

Wicketkeeper Amy Jones dons a helmet to stand up to the stumps for Sciver's medium pace, and that's a good move as it keeps Taylor in her crease. Just a single from Quintyne for the over.

Stephan Shemilt and Lydia Greenway are discussing England's team song on TMS. Lydia isn't allowed to reveal the words...

I think they are trying to keep it quite sacred. It's very much a football chant. I actually made up the song with Tash Farrant. I think we were volunteered to do it. The tune is 'Just Can't Get Enough' by Depeche Mode.

  19. WI 23-1published at 5 overs

    Quintyne 8, Taylor 5

Not for the first time, West Indies show some aggressive intent as Shaquana Quintyne lifts Brunt over mid-on for four. England's response is to switch Marsh from mid-on with the taller Jenny Gunn taking her place. As often happens in such circumstances, the ball seems to follow Marsh for a couple of deliveries as the Windies take a couple of singles, while Taylor hits the second boundary of the over as she slashes a four through the gap where second slip might have been.

  20. WI 12-1published at 4 overs

Captain Stafanie Taylor is the new batter. "No great footwork" is Stephan Shemilt's early verdict on the Windies skipper's first couple of deliveries.
