  1. Eng 157-6published at 42 overs

Stokes nips off strike and Woakes sees out the over. The two share big grins as they bump gloves. Stokes has had a lucky escape.

  2. Not outpublished at 41.4 overs

    Eng 156-6

Now then. That has been reversed on the tiniest of edges. That's just a little blip on ultraedge as the ball has kissed Stokes' glove on the way through. Stokes clearly didn't have a clue it had hit the glove. And that was probably cannoning into middle stump, after Stokes threw his sweep shot too early. Umpire Dharmasena will have better series, you'd imagine.

  3. Reviewpublished at 41.3 overs

    Eng 156-6

Stokes gets on one knee to Mehedi, Mehedi pleads with Dharmasena and he raises his finger. Surprise surprise, Stokes reviews...

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 156-6published at 41.2 overs

Stokes grimaces, adjusts his box and then launches Mehedi for six. That's a superb shot. A nice bit of footwork, arms swinging straight through the shot, and that's momentarily quietened the crowd.

John Hamilton: Seriously-well bowled Mehedi, but we are getting out to pretty innocuous deliveries.

Allen Cooper: Embarrassing England, like going back to the 90s.

  6. Eng 150-6published at 41 overs

Bangladesh are appealing for everything, as a ball sneaks through Stokes' defends and Mushfiqur whips the bails off. Stokes brings up England's 150 as he digs out a fuller ball from Shakib, but there's no celebrations. Woakes lets a Shakib delivery drift off the face of his bat to end the over.

  7. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 40.1 overs

    Eng 149-6

Stokes come charging down, the ball balloons up towards Shakib - is that a drop? Stokes got bat on it and it hovered in the air for a while but that was a low chance for Shakib to grab. He dives forward, fingertips grasping, but he can't cling on.

Mehedi is an incredibly capable, orthodox off-spinner, who turns the ball and bowls accurately. At the age of 19 he has been very calm and has risen to the occasion quite brilliantly, in a way that England's spinners couldn't.

  9. Eng 149-6published at 40 overs

England will be mentally ticking off those overs. Mehedi continues - you try getting the ball off him - and Woakes guides ball after ball away to safety. They trade a single while Stokes, with soft hands, play a bouncier delivery down towards slip. He then has a big go at a fuller delivery, dramatically producing a cloud of dust, but it's well saved by the sprawling fielder at cover.

Jon Young: Despite being an England  supporter, I'd quite like to see Bangladesh win this. Love an underdog.

Paul Hawkins: Love how excited Mehedi Hasan gets. Hope Bangladesh's fresh-faced young star takes the winning wicket.

Shakib will continue as the last bit of sun dips down behind the stadium. He gives little away, keeping the ball turning into the batsmen. Woakes, who looked very good in the first innings, defends, before he turns a flatter delivery past short leg for an easy single.

Chris Brown: And there I was quietly chuckling to myself about the "adding 4 wickets to the total" tweet.

Andy Sykes: Took dog out for a quick walk feeling all jovial. Come back and collapse is on. Dog has seen my face and has scarpered upstairs.

  15. Five for Mehedipublished at 38 overs

    Eng 143-6

Mehedi finishes his over, giving him sterling figures so far of 18-2-66-5.

Before he fell, Bairstow was having a little bit of a tete-a-tete with Mahmudullah. Not sure what it was about, but it might have just knocked Bairstow's concentration. That's taking nothing away from a supreme display of spin bowling from the 19-year-old, though.

Remember when it was all positive before tea? Yeah, let's remember that fondly. Bairstow's the next to go. Bat, pad, up in the air and short leg takes the catch. England could lose this tonight.

That's another magnificent five-fer for Mehedi though, who has been superb.

It's impossible to pick a turning point in this match because there have been about 27. It's been that kind of match, and that kind of series.

  19. drinks break

    Eng 137-5published at 37 overs

    Drinks break

We've got 16 overs left today, which might be good or bad news depending on where your allegiance lies. Shakib, on for Hom, kicks off with a big ol' lbw appeal against Stokes, but that turned too much. Both batsmen are looking for the run and Stokes attempts a reverse sweep, misses, and the ball spins down the legside. Mushfiqur looks anguished - did Stokes get a bit of glove on that? That'll be drinks.
